Was boxed with other items which were canned, etc. Both packs of bones were broken open and greasy, meaty pieces all over everything. It was a loosely boxed shipment. I prefer to have things not shipped together to save on boxes for this reason. I honestly don't think it was this vendors fault. The product is great. Dog loves them. I put the bones in new gallon bags but it made a mess.

I have a 90lb Great Pyrenees mix and a 70lb Staffy as well as a 16mth old Frenchie. They all absolutely love these knuckle bones but be warned super chewers will get chunks of bone off. Not a lot maybe a piece or two but choking size. Although my girls will just spit them out and leave them my Frenchie will than pick them up and want to chew on them. They are just big enough to fill his mouth, defiantly a chocking hazard. I just sit with them until they are pretty well cleaned and than pick up any chunks that have fallen off before I leave them u supervised. They will chew on these bones for weeks if not longer. Warming they are smelly and greasy and have a lot of dried meat pieces that will crumble off. In the beginning my big girls can get pretty big crispy meat chunks off. They are most likely loaded with calories so my chubby house hippo doesnt get them often. Lol Anyway I have bought these for yrs and never had a problem with close supervision. DO NOT leave your dog alone with them Im sure in lots of cases some big dogs will try and swallow the big chunks! Oh and may cause soft stool, not bad in my case, just softer than usual. Like I said they are pretty greasy/fatty.

We purchased two kinds of these bones for our dogs for Christmas - the 4" beef center dog bones with marrow and meaty pieces, and the 4" meaty beef rib dog bones. We have a 6-year-old Brittany spaniel and a 6-month old beagle. We have been giving our dogs beef hooves for years without issue, but thought for Christmas we could mix it up and get them a new treat. The marrow bones seem to be okay, but we had an awful experience with the rib bones. I have had dogs all my life and know they should be supervised when enjoying bones. However, I got home from running errands and gave each dog a brand new rib bone, their first ones to try. I left them with their bones for TEN minutes, and came to check on them and my Brittany spaniel's bone was nowhere to be found. I thought it was too big for him to swallow whole, but I really couldn't imagine what had happened to it. We went straight to the vet and waited to be seen, for him to have an XRay that showed he had chewed the rib bone up into a bunch of little bone shards and swallowed them all - within TEN MINUTES. He had to have $60 worth of special food over the next 5 days in the hope the shards would all pass, and a followup XRay 2 days later to make sure everything was looking okay. Luckily, he did need any emergency surgery, but it could just as easily gone the other way. It still cost almost $300 total for the two vet visits, XRays, and food. We are just so glad he is okay. For now, we've taken away ALL bones. The rib bones will be going in the trash. PLEASE stay away from buying the rib bones - or if you do, make sure you watch your pets closely, the whole time. This happened so fast I can't even believe it.
