At first I was a little upset when I opened these because they weren't clear. Turns out they have a thin plastic film on both sides. Very happy with these, they're the perfect thickness, not floppy but just enough flex to not be brittle.

They are thinner than expected and have a tiny bit of flex, but I don't really see that as an issue. They are definitely not flimsy, just not rigid. They are the perfect size for mixing many variations of a single color.

You can leave the lining on and paint on it, then take it off later and paint on the clear side. I love these because it makes mixing my colors more fun due to them being see through once both sides of the wrapping have been taken off. They have a little bend to them if youre using a pallet knife- so the fun part has a downfall of a practicality part. Mixing oil paint is more difficult. I have been having fun letting my old paint dry on them. Its like a little art piece to go with the painting, but they can be cleaned and reused if desired. Note: These arent for you if you need a super sturdy surface to mix color. The surrounding edge isnt perfectly smooth so it needs to be wiped off instead of scraped. This isnt an issue for me, I paint more when Im having fun, and I love that theyre see through- I have fun taking photos of my paintings in progress and the clear pallet in front has made for nice photos.

I've been using mine for a couple of months now. As you can see, over time it gets harder to remove the paint. I use palette knives to get the paint off and it scratches it. But it does a good job and I'd recommend them for ease of use and longevity for the price. The plastic is sturdy and you can put good pressure on it while blending without worrying it will break. The plastic is a bit slick, so use very little paint when you are pulling down to blend. Otherwise it is easy to pull down too much paint at once. If these ever wear out I'll buy more because they have been a good addition to my painting supplies. Uodate: by January this one wore out. Pretty darn good for it to last 5 months of almost daily use before I couldn't scrub the paint off anymore. I still have the other 2 in the pack, so I'd say the 3 pack will last over a year of continual use.
