For reference, these little pads are the same size as a 3X5 index card. As the item description on this page shows, they have a ruler on the cover, which is a lot more handy than you might think. But the big selling point here is that the pages are waterproof. First of all the look and feel here is pretty normal. The pages are a little thicker than other small notepads, but the pages can still be folded. They flip easily. The pads are very lightweight and don't take up a lot of room. You can't just rip a page out, though, and that might be the only downside I've found with these. You will have to physically cut them with a scissor. That's not a real dealbreaker for me, and I chose not to deduct a star because they aren't the "perfect" replacement. Just be aware. I used my normal pen, which is pictured in the photos I've included, to write on the page. I then took water and poured a bit on the writing. You can see that it doesn't really absorb into the page. It sat on top. I took a paper towel and absorbed the water. I also rubbed the paper towel on the letters to see if they would smear. They did not smear. They did not fade. While most of the time we don't really care about this quality, this is an added layer of security for your notes. It does exactly what it says it will do. It does so without chemicals.
