My cat loves sharpening her claws on this. Easy to put on and replace when needed. Kept my furniture safe.

We have feline overlords, and keeping trimmable scratching pads like this one in reserve is very important. Not only does it meet your feline overlord's need to scratch something/someone's eyes out, but it also ensures I can keep my furniture in working order longer. The feline overlords love these and as soon as I install them the get at shredding it to pieces. My feline overlords are savages.

I got this to protect my couch and loveseat from getting scratched up by my cats. The mat was easy to trim and customize to fit my couch. The adhesive on the back was not super sticky and didn't leave any residue on my fingers when I touched it. It also didn't leave any residue on my couch when I peeled it off. The description says that it works best with smooth surfaces like leather and wood. My couches are fabric, which is why I need to protect them from cats scratching them. However, the mat doesn't adhere well to the rough fabric surface. My cats like to scratch on the mat, but they are strong enough that they pull them off. The mats are reusable, and I'm able to stick them back into place. I picked the color that closest matched my couch, but it doesn't really match. The good is that it is protecting my couch from cat scratches. The bad is that I have to put them back into place after they have been pulled off.

I used this to recover part of my cat tree. My cat is very enthusiastic when she sharpens her claws. The main post of her cat tree was upholstered in rug. She'd pulled off about half of the yarn pieces from the rug & no matter how often I clean them up there are pieces of rug yarn all over the floor. This fabric looked like it might be a good option for reupholstering the largest post. I removed the remaining rug on the post & used this to recover it. This is 6 1/2' long & 15.8" wide. It's plenty long to redo the post, but it's too narrow. It should be about 17" wide. The post is about 4" wide on each side & this is 1/4" too short, plus extra is needed to wrap it around the corners, so it ended up being a bit small to do the job. Plus, the cat tree has three posts, two of which are shorter. One is 4' & the other is 2.' In order to fully cover the posts, I would need three of these rolls. It runs $23.00 a roll. so it would cost $69.00 to recover all three post, which is close to the cost of getting a new cat tree, which I can get for $99.00, without the hassle of trying to recover the old one. The manufacturer should consider making this wider & have it available in different lengths so that customers can buy the length needed for their planned use. I would not use this on a sofa or chair. That would be training your cat to sharpen their laws on the sofa or chair. Then, if the cover was not on the furniture, or if you got a new piece of furniture, your cat would sharpen their claws on the furniture because that's what they've been taught to do. I was disappointed that it wasn't wide enough to go around the pole of the cat tree, as it's advertise for use on cat scratchers , in addition to furniture. I removed the rug that was on the tallest post & applied this. It's somewhat sticky on the back, but not strong enough to withstand a cat sharpening its claws. I used the adhesive to fit the material around the post & stapled it in place with a staple gun. It's better than the piece of rug we originally had, but because it isn't wide enough, it doesn't fully cover the post. I hope it holds up, as it's a bit thin. If you would be using this on a shorter, smaller post or if you were making your own vertical scratching post or horizontal scratcher, it would work.

Product came right off the couch and car was stuck to it for at least 10 minutes before I heard him in the middle of the night. It is a shame since I cut up and place the entire role on both couch corners.
