Describe the rolls Each roll is about 5 tall and about 2 in diameter. The two (2) rolls weigh in about (1) pound together. Each roll is about (8) ounces each. The listing claims (50) bags, so, (25) in a roll. I note the bags are more an opaque white than clear. The rolls of bags have no aroma, and their texture does feel typical, more on the smooth rather than a bit rougher than the competitors because each bag does not have a dimpled type of look/design, which I suspect is to give strength. The bags are connected in the roll, but no big struggle to tear away from the roll. A reasonable tug or tearing action pulls the bag away from the roll, so I was tearing a bag away from another bag. Any scents? There are no added fancy freshness scents as some other similar trash bags on the market have. But I knew this so no deduction. Bottom? These have a star type bottom, rather than flat. I like these, as they fit in the garbage cans nicely, whether round or rectangular. Use These are being used in an inside an 8-gallon trash container for medium to heavy trash and food waste. These bags are also being used successfully and without any issue for small gatherings of recycling (works great). I also use these as dust covers for items that are being stored inside, like books and magazines. I could use them also for small items for longer term attic storage, but I really cannot see through them easily. Country of origin Made in China. Testing the bags An experiment was conducted. I took several pounds of trash, consisting of diapers, watermelon rinds, mango skins and pits, and other wet trash remnants, and I lifted and shook the bag violently to see if it would hold. It did, without tearing. I then tried to stick a few fingers in the bag and pushed, there was an expectation my fingers would go through, and they did NOT, there was a significant amount of resistance. This bag survived, without tearing with some level of stretching. A word of caution, when intentionally sticking-in a sharp object and pushing, such did cause the bag to stretch and finally tear. But just to that area. No points deducted for that intentional act. For heavy loads If I think I am going to have a very heavy load, I double this bag, at most, rather than triple up by inserting bags inside of bags. All in all, this writer was happy with this selection. Value. These are on the premium side, as in (50%) more than a competitors bags, at (14 cents a bag) but I also think these bags have value, even on the premium side, because they were that good. Recommendation A thought? A drawstring closure, at this size, is almost standard and would be appreciated. I do not think the bags would have to be thicker to accommodate the technology of a drawstring. Bag thickness Now, the thickness of this bag is we estimate is about (0.75) mil, in comparison, a plastic produce bag is about (0.25) mil. some big box trash bags I have also are at about this same thickness, i.e., mil, and regular (13-gallon) kitchen trash bags at mil (0.75) mil. So, this is on the higher end and its apparently the type of plastic that is used that makes a difference. This is pretty darn tough, for its thickness, so decent tensile strength. This bag is not entirely silky smooth, it has a lot of dimples. I had a somewhat easy time removing it, at the rolls perforations, no great difficulty in finding its opening. Thoughts? Based on the totality of this reviewers thoughts, I have no complaints and I received what I expected as to dimensions and thickness, if I wanted something heavier duty, than I would not have selected these (the listing did not reference thickness, so I expected a thinner bag, which its right there with the other big band name bags). Do I think these perfect? No. But they are pretty darn good. So, weak five (5) star. I hope my thoughts added additional information.
