Good rj45 adaptor

Works exactly as expected without any additional software. I dont use it for long term connections. Spot use in emergency applications. Seems sturdy and should last.

Faster speeds and functionality

I rewired my son's rooms so that he could have ethernet at his desk. He makes a lot of YouTube videos and being able to load them faster saves time. This adapter works great and with the USB hubs, helps with other devices being plug in. A must for someone who also moves around or travels.

Works well ... once configured

We had one at home but forgot to bring it along. Ordered another one, because the first one worked perfectly right out of the box. This second one kept shutting off. Thinking it was defective a third one was ordered and it, too kept shutting off. 66% failure rate was not likely so a deep dive into the settings. [windows key]-->device manager-->Network Adapters-->Realtek USB Gigabit controller-(right click)-->properties-->advanced-->idle power saving-->disable Whew! I think the problem is that it doesn't come out of "idle power saving" which is a bug. OK, off to UPS to send the second one back. (keeping #3)

Ethernet disconnects intermittently

This was the best priced USB-C ethernet adapter I could find, and it worked fine at first, but after a few weeks I decided to use it with my laptop (which lacks an ethernet port) to run a plex server. I noticed that the plex server would intermittently drop out, and then realized that the laptop was losing internet connection when this happened. I spent a lot of time fiddling with my firewall and network settings thinking there must be a problem somewhere, because resetting the adapter or restarting the computer solved the problem each time. I finally thought to try using a different network adapter, and the problem went away. Bottom line, this works in a pinch, but don't expect a reliable stable network connection. EDIT: So I contacted the seller, and they responded within a couple of days and recommended that I download the Realtek gigabit driver from the Realtek website rather than using Windows Update. I did this, and voila, no further connection issues.
