I've used so many disposable cleaners in the past, even baking soda for that matter. Nothing comes close to this product, it's literally leaves the disposable squeaky clean. Even the plumber said this is a very good product cause there were no damage to the pipes at all. Highly recommend this!!

These tablets are quite effective at cleaning odor from a garbage disposal. When I used it, it foamed up in the sink disposal drain so much it also foamed out of the drain in our side-by-side sink, too. Was very effective in cleaning the disposal, but we did notice that an odor returned after a few days, which I guess is to be expected, depending on what you put down your disposal.

Active really does make the best appliance cleaning products. I first stumbled across Active products when needing to do a deep clean on my washing machine, when all other products failed. With one tablet it got out more gunk than any of the others did. I was immediately impressed. I cant see the gunk coming out of the disposal, but I can say that our disposal smells a million times better using this than any other garbage disposal cleaning product I have tried to date. The icing on the cake to my lasting loyalty to this brand is the hand written note that came with this box of garbage disposal cleaners. 10/10 would recommend!

The garbage disposal in our new apartment (new to us) is absolutely disgusting. The smell coming from this is is rancid. I can see into the disposal and can tell it was never cleaned, ever. I recently purchased the washing machine cleaner and noticed these when I was checking out. I thought I would give them a try since nothing else is helping with the disposal. Per the instructions I only needed to use 1 tablet based on the HP for the disposal, but it was recommended to use 2 the first time if it was particularly gross. So I threw 2 in the disposal and let it go. The amount of disgusting stuff that came up in the foam made me sick! I couldn't belive how much gunk it got out after 1 use! Now, my disposal is still gross but I can tell it is WAY more clean than it was before I used this product. It says to use 2 times a month to keep it clean but I almost want to use it everyday to get that totally clean. Don't sleep on these tablets. Get them now! I am going to be purchasing the dishwasher tablets next!!!!

Like several others here, I have experienced that the product does not disolve in the drain after following the instructions to a T. The large tablets of white pressed powder are so firmly compressed they do not dissolve right away; instead they go right down the drain completey intact. Not to be out-done, I experimented. What eventually worked fairly well is the following procedure. While you are having the preliminary hot water flowing down the drain, as instructed: (1) Take two tablets & place them on a folded (doubled) paper towel on you counter. Use a tiny hammer, or something similar, and pound on the tablets, one at a time, until they are beaten to little crumbs. (Do not beat hard enough to damage your counter. The towel catches the crumbs and protects the counter surface.) (2) Put the crumbs in a small bowl (4-6 inches in diameter). And fill with warm or hot tap water. (3) When the preliminary water running is done, and with the disposal running, start pouring the dissolved powder GRADUALLY, SLOWLY into the drain. (I tried it all at once; the powder did not foam.) By pouring in small slurps, it eventually started foaming. Not at first.) Overview of result. I think I may need to use two tablets every time, not just the first time. That doubles the cost per cleaning. I was still not pleased with the foaming action. There was not a lot of it and it disappeared far too soon. But it was there for a while. Hopefully it was enough to kill the bacteria. Seems like a product should be made that can dissolve much more quickly and foam much puffier. The product is packaged in a very wide, very flat/shallow box (as though they were thin chocolate candies to choose among.) This is quite unhandy as it is too easy to mis-handle it, for it to tip over and spill all the tablets out. (They ARE wrapped.) It does not fit handily under my kitchen sink. Would be better to put the tablets in a plastic, zip-lock bag or a taller, less wide cardboard box--more like a cube or dish detergent or cereal box.
