Easy to screw in directly to a tree and mount my camera without carrying a drill out into the woods. the only thing I dont like it the wing nut is so close to the camera that it gets in the way of the cable opening for the solar panel and buttons that are along the bottom. And its a little bit hard to position because one crank loosens both joints so you have to be careful to get both where you want and be able to hold them in place while cranking it back up, felt like I needed a third hand to do it but I got it eventually. I used straps for a bit until I was sure where I wanted the camera permanently because I hate putting holes in trees but now that its there this holds a much better angle and is so much better than the straps.

This seems to be a good value for about $10. This is pretty standard and should thread into most trail cameras that have a screw in mount. Has as a stable and easy to adjust swivel ball mount on both ends. I prefer mounting my trail cameras to trees or fence posts with something like these as opposed to strapping them. So far this has been a stable and versatile option for mounting a trail camera. It has long threads with a wing nut for the camera end a long screw in for the base end. You have the option of direct threading or using a wall insert for certain applications. Seems durable, but I haven't seen it in a windstorm or how it holds up to UV over time. This one is a lot more versatile than many and for under $10 I think it's an excellent value.

I'm not the typical user for this product, so keep that in mind. I'm a wildlife photographer but I use trail cameras to scout for wildlife for future photography opportunities. You can set them up on trails or where you think animals may be and let them do the scouting for you. The quality of these is good. They have a little weight to them (which is good), but not so heavy that you would notice when you load up a bag of them to replace your straps. They are also durable and should last for years in the elements. The only things I would change are the plastic nut on the screw for the tree and the screw length on the wing nut that adjust the balls. A fixed wing nut on the screw for the tree would be awesome. If you just set it and forget it the plastic nut is probably fine, but I would be skeptical about moving the camera around too much as the nut might get deformed. If there were a wing nut you could turn with your fingers (obviously if it were a soft enough tree) and you wouldn't have to carry around a wrench. Not a deal breaker, of course. As for the screw on the wing nut, that really only needs to be longer if there were a wing nut on the tree screw. That way you could remove the tree screw and have easier access to the wing nut. These work great as you can adjust the angle of your camera to cover any situation! If you just strap your camera to a tree your very limited as to where you're recording unless you resort to jamming sticks under your camera or bringing wedges with you. Even then ... Also, wind may loosen those up for you over time. Overall, awesome product at a great price that won't break the bank if you need a lot of them.

The new design of a ball-jointed mount is a huge step in the right direction. Older mounts were either a single position or had one vertical adjustment for up/down. The ball joint allows for multiple mounting options and adjustments to get "just the right" angle to get a good picture or image. The only recommendation I have for installation is to NOT torque the entire mount when tightening. Use a box or adjustable wrench to tighten the mount to the tree or fence post. If you twist or tighten the entire mount it may break. The only other concern I have is using plastic in the sun and elements. I mount my cameras in the sun and it has a way of aging and cracking even the sturdiest plastic. I will post an update if there is an issue after they have been in the field for a while.

Very well built, I see no signs of skimping here. Everything is a very tough plastic, or metal including the bolt and imbedded metal nut. I don't intend on putting this in to a tree, but it's long and sharp, and should be easy to do. The best aspect of this is that the rubberized ball surface allows you to really lock this in place, and it seems to be over a metal post, so there's no worry of it snapping or breaking. I appreciate that the sharp end comes enclosed with a little rubber cover (which perfectly replaced a missing one on my keyboard stand). Definitely recommend this one.
