A Cool Case for a Cool Camera

The Olympus Tough TG-6 is a really cool camera, with functions and capabilities that Ive barely begun to experiment with in the couple of months that Ive owned mine. If youre looking for a hard case to store and/or protect your own TG-6, then I can unhesitatingly say that this one from Aenllosi is as cool as the camera itself. Made of what the manufacturer says is Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA), but what Id call ballistic nylon, the case is very rigid yet thin enough that it minimizes bulkiness. Its not much bigger than the camera itself, and is exceptionally lightweight for its size. Theres a good seal at the mating surfaces between the lid and the body, and the zipper has a nice-sized, textured pull that works smoothly. A little carabiner comes with the case, which has a tiny fabric loop to attach it. Inside, the camera--mine has the optional lens adapter/lens cap mounted, which makes it a little thicker than the bare camera--nestles snugly into the form-fitting pocket, and an elasticized bungee holds it relatively securely in place. I dont use the thick, wide strap that came with my TG-6; rather, I use a smaller, thinner strap cannibalized from another camera, which takes up very little space when coiled around the camera. Using the original Olympus strap would make for a tighter fit. The lid of the case is very shallow; theres room for a spare battery and a memory card or two in the net-divided compartment. As other reviewers mention, cables, chargers and adapters are a no-go in the tiny space. Attractive, sturdy, strong and functional, this Aenilosi case is a great, must-have accessory for your TG-6 that not only does what its supposed to do while looking great--it also provides very affordable protection for your investment in one of the coolest cameras around.
