Aquarium Siphon and Gravel Cleaner kit Fit for Small Tank...

As other reviewers have said, the soft squeeze pump suction is not powerful enough. No instructions came with this. The stiff hosing parts attach with a soft hosing connector band which I can imagine is a detritus trap... if only the pump suction was strong enough for me to successfully use this device. I bought this as a backup because my main gravel cleaner sometimes gets clogged in the middle of tank maintenance, but I'll be using it for spare parts.

Poor instructions if any. Can not assemble and use to suck up items off bottom. Don't buy.

I have 5 fish tanks in my house right now. I do like being able to "vacuum" the bottom of the tank every so often to remove larger debris that doesn't get caught up into the filter. I find that smaller siphons work better as my largest tank, right now, is only 39 gallons. It is also great for water changes when you end up with an ammonium level spike. The siphon itself is super easy to use and it works really well. It is very effective for both of my 10 gallon tanks and my 39 gallon tank. The siphon does take out quite a bit of water very quickly. So something like a 1-5 gallon tank might be completely empty before you could effectively vacuum the bottom. So keep that in mind before you select this one. On to the attachments. I tried over and over and over and couldn't get the attachments to fit. They were either too tight to go on without the adapter or the adapter put the attachment at a weird angle and wasn't effective. While I really only got the siphon for the siphon abilities I would still have hoped that the attachments would have worked better.
