Great value

Not a great headset, but a great value. This is a good choice if you want to keep a couple for spares or for emergency use. The headset works great for me, but feels a little flimsy - again, great for the cost (about $12), but I have concerns about durability. I also found that the one-ear style doesn't work for me - I am too easily distracted by the uncovered ear - works fine if I wear an earplug in the other ear, but why do that? This isn't the fault of the product - but something to consider - do you really want single ear, or both? Also, despite what some reviewers say - it's "on the ear", not "over the ear" style. Again, a matter of preference, but make sure you know your needs and what you are getting.

Good sound quality, fits my radio well and very comfortable to wear.

The boom mic on this headset can be flipped in either direction so that this can be worn with the microphone and wire on the left, or the right. Whichever I prefer. The speaker quality is good even if I have the radio set to low volume. The microphone captures my voice well, I can be understood perfectly by my co-workers. The connector fits my radio well and has not given me any connection issues. It has a good length wire that allows me to have my radio on my belt and move around perfectly. The PTT button works well, I have not had any issues with it. I am very happy with this headset. I am giving this 5 stars!

This Arrowmax AHDH1000-K2 Single Side Over-The-Head Headphone fits. This Arrowmax AHDH1000-K2 Single Side Over-The-Head Headphone works with Baofeng / compatible radios. This Arrowmax AHDH1000-K2 Single Side Over-The-Head Headphone does not produce great audio according to the people I talk to frequently and will do comparisons with me. This Arrowmax AHDH1000-K2 Single Side Over-The-Head Headphone is good for back-up or if you need a headset in addition to a regular headset. I much prefer my Heil headset with the molded-in connector, and that one is not much more expensive.

For emergency backup

I wanted a radio headphone for one ear only. I had tried earpiece-styled ones but didn't like the way they felt inside my ear. I found this over-the-ear type to be more comfortable. Now that I've confirmed this preference, I'm going to find a better quality one. This unit is very cheaply made. I think its main use would be as an emergency backup in my disaster response kit, just in case something happens to my primary headpiece. The plug did fit properly and firmly into UV-5R and UV-5R clones. The sound quality is okay but the microphone has issues, especially with my beard. Turning off the VOX setting helped, but then I had to press the button on my radio to transmit. The microphone stem is short and felt like it would break very easily if I tried bending it. In the end, one gets what they pay for.

Nearly any motion causes the PTT to activate

The sound quality is really good, but it has a problem in that if you move it seems to activate the PTT switch regardless of whether or not your finger is on it. Obviously this would cause problems by clicking PTT over and over on general channels. But if you happen to be on a HAM channel . . . I'm sure the FCC wouldn't like that.
