Works well

I have a wired version of this cassette adaptor from the same company and it works fine. I wanted a bluetooth version for my older car. It technically still has a wire sticking out, but it does not have to mechanically attach to my phone. The bonus about that is, if the bluetooth dongle battery dies I can still plug the wire into my phone anyway. I also like that the bluetooth dongle can be adapted to other devices with a 3.5 mm jack. There is another model of this cassette adaptor where the dongle cannot be detached from the cassette. It works great. I haven't used up all of the battery life on it, so perhaps I have spoken too soon. But it sounds better than cheaper versions where I would need to eject the tape several times to get it to line up just right with the play heads to get stereo and the best sound. The play head on this one looks better and is aligned properly. I have been trying a lot of the cheaper versions of a bluetooth adaptor and saw some of them had the tape head askew, making it difficult to get the correct alignment with the player in the car stereo. With the cheaper ones I could hear the "tape" gears turning very quietly, but still noticeable. Those cheaper versions made loud scraping and grinding noises as the gears rotated in the car tape deck. I bought one (probably all the same product with different labeling), where the reviews suggested opening the 6 tiny screws and removing some magic combination of gears that would eliminate the noise but still fool the cassette deck into believing it is a real cassette tape and not eject it or flip from side to side continuously. I opened that tape half a dozen times and could not find the correct combination of gears to leave or remove. The $16 tape ended up in the trash. I noticed it was a little thicker than this one because the bluetooth unit was inside the deck.

It works fine, but the left channel on the bluetooth output is lower than the right.

It's a nice idea, especially because you could switch between headphones and a tape deck, the audio output quality is fine, but the left channel is lower than the right. I tried multiple headphones after i noticed it on the tape adapter with no change, so it's an issue with the bluetooth receiver.

Compact and works well, runs on a charge for about 4 hours

I have used this with the tape deck and also audio jack by itself. It comes with the headphone to headphone solid connector that makes it very compact, when used on a headphone input. On one charge I am getting about 4 hours of use. The sound quality seems pretty good. It's been easy to connect to with Bluetooth from my phone. The plus and minus buttons on the dongle will skip song forward and back and that works really nice. Plugging in the USB cable to charge it is a little bit tight as the housing seems to interfere a little bit, but it does work. Overall I'm pretty happy with it. If you're only using for a short commute, it will work great. I haven't tried it yet but I assume you should be able to keep constant power if you kept the USB plugged in, It just doesn't come with any car jack for that or power block.

nostalgia with bluetooth

I got this for the sake of nostalgia as I had a portable CD player and I used a similar device to play it on my cassette player. This has another feature of bluetooth so you can stream music to your cassette player..how cool is that!
