The flavor is definitely vanilla, but I think it tastes more like an artificial vanilla flavor (not in a bad way) rather than an actual one. Or maybe the vanilla is fine, but something else makes it come across like that. Anyway... they're still yummy. I got them for myself rather than for kids, because I like having probiotics that taste good, versus taking a capsule. I'm not sure how to tell how well they work for teeth and gum health, as I've always been good with oral hygiene, but I certainly wouldn't mind a little extra boost. They're easy to chew, and the directions on the bottle say that's how you're supposed to use them, so I'm not sure why the actual item says it's a "slow dissolve tablet". I tried letting one dissolve and it took a long time... long enough that I ended up chewing it by accident because I stopped paying attention.
