I was excited to try these on, because the foam pads I had tend to slip out and break. These are much better quality and seem to help with noise cancelling. I got the large, which is still a bit small for my extra large ear holes. But I have less issues with these than I did with the ones that came with the headphones or the aftermarket foam pads I bought.

I found the original buds to be more comfortable but everyone is different.

I cant hear a significant impact or difference if any in the very impressive XM5s using these tips with wax guards ranging from rock, classical, jazz etc after 15 hours listening. Bass is still powerfully big and booming with excellent resonance and rumble. Noise cancellation still excellent, there seems to be slightly more sharpness and treble but easy to equalize or filter without negatively impacting the outstanding sound from the XM5s that arent dramatically better than the XM4s but are a definite and surprising audio upgrade. Previous tips were New SpinFit CP360 JVC Spiral Dot etc with no wax guards. And to Sony - Hopefully the XM5s will not be worthless, dead and useless in a year from Sonys shameful and well-known XM4 mass battery failures leaving many, many customers in a $279 - $300 hole. Would Sony product managers spend that for premium Bluetooth audio knowing they will fail in only 18 months? Not a chance yet we are left with no option other than class-action in court. Do the right thing finally Sony and replace or fix the XM4s batteries out of warranty, many of your loyal customers trusted your brand and youve chosen to abuse customer trust and stick us with a $300 premium earbud that failed in a year and a half. (In my case $900 having ordered 3 pair)

I have small ears so the standard tips for most earbuds are challenging fits even with the smallest size. I love the Sony WF-1000XM5's but even the new foam eartips don't stay in or create a great seal when I am walking - always needing adjustment. These silicone ear tips work very well, creating a seal and passing the commute test where I didn't have to adjust them even once. When I shake my head the silicone tips do make a "wobble" sound but honestly, I'm not usually shaking my head it's not an issue. Some people have complained about the "seal" but I think they are very solid at still creating an airtight seal - maybe not as good as the foam tips but the stronger and more comfortable hold more than makes up for it. I also used them on my Status Between 3ANC as I had the same issue with their standard eartips and these worked great on them as well! Highly recommend especially for people with small ears!
