This is a great sketchbook! The B6 size is perfect as it's smaller than an A5 (5.5"8.5") yet bigger than a typical pocket size (3.75" 5.5"). This gives the handroom needed to get a good feel for the layout of the sketch. The paper is thick, a nice shade of light cream and smooth with a slight tooth for gripping medium. A light wash of color will give slight to moderate buckling. A moderate wash like what I've done in the attached pic will give noticable buckling but nothing to prevent one from utilizing the back ( if you don't mind a bit of ripple). There was no bleed through of the watercolor, fineliner or brush pen that I used on the Test page, but some faint shadowing. I love the textured cover, the back pocket and the elastic band as these details give a high-end craftsmanship feel! Overall I'm impressed and would love to purchase this again as well as try the larger size model. Great product for travel, journaling, thumbnailing and sketching! Kudos must be given to the cover - It's the Goldie Locks of covers; not too hard or too soft, giving great portability and durability. Top Pick in my book. Would highly recommend this sketchbook!

I loved the ZenArt supplies leather Sketchbook journal because the sketchbook was packaged appropriately for customer, its appearance is appealing and convenient, and it incorporates little useful facets for journal entry. The sketchook was packaged in plastic when I recieved it and was easy to open and the journal was in brand new condition. The journal is gray with a cardboard outside cover feel to it which is unique because if you were to draw inside it, it would not be heavy on the artist's or writer's leg wherever they intended to go with their journal. For example, you can go with it on a couch or in your bed, or outside which makes it very convenient especially with it being about the size of an average hand making it easy to fit in your purse or bag. I loved how the journal was simplistic with its approach just being gray but had likeable qualities of both journal and sketchbook. The journal has a back storage pocket opening for an artist or writer to place notes or possible small ideas for an entries they were planning but haven't done yet. The journal has an elastic band that goes around the journal when you are done writing or drawing inside of it which made it easy to contain your creativity. I enjoyed the journal's built in different book mark strings that helped you know where you left off or where you want to work on next. The journal also has a print paper feel that is smooth inside and all around the ends of the book which leaves a clean look for the artist/writer.

I really loved how it was the perfect size to take anywhere. I could take the sketchbook in one of my purses without having to worry about not having enough space. The texture was unlike anything I have ever used, it was soft and seemed very durable. I wanted to see how well it would hold up with gouache watercolor so I tried to paint some Koi fish. At first it seemed like it wasn't very good with watercolor, but I was surprised to see that the back of the page was still intact regardless of some wrinkles that were starting to develop from the water. Next I tried some acrylic paint. I love how the paint stuck onto this sketchbook. It didn't bleed through and provided a nice clean layer of paint that helped with blending. The bookmarks are a unique idea that helped me keep track of which painting I was on and the strap on the front helped keep the pages flat when I was watercoloring. Overall I had a good experience with this sketchbook, it's very cheap compared to other top mark sketchbooks and has everything you need in one place. It was definitely one of the better sketchbooks I have owned.
