Does not work well!

Well color me disappointed as this was something that I have been wanting to try for the longest time. I have never had the best posture BUT I do know that my posture is NOT that bad. It fit me ok. . .took me a few tries to get it the correct size to fit me. Now here is why the 1 star. One it is the OLD USB type. Seriously, why couldn't they just make it USB-C like most things nowadays. Two, it is just too sensitive!! WOW! I couldn't even lean over slightly to reach for things without it going off. Three, the vibration was sooooooooo mild BUT the noise was sooooooooo LOUD!! So even if I wanted to wear it at work, I couldn't as it was so noisy. It is cheap and you can tell that it is cheaply made as well. I will be throwing this out as this is just taking up space in my home. I really wished that it worked as I know that my posture will only get worse as I age more.

The reminder I needed

I try to have proper posture, but always find myself slouching. This brace has been perfect for reminding me to sit up straight! The vibrations are not uncomfortable, but they provide a jolt to remind me to sit up straight. There is also a tone that goes off if I slouch too often. The straps are very adjustable so I can size it up to fit myself or size it down to fit my toddler. It is also rechargeable which is very convenient!

Straight up review

The pros: 1. It definitely helps to keep your shoulders back, and my posture when wearing it is *chefs kiss* perfect 2. Relatively comfortable to wear - for me (see cons list for more on comfort). you can tell that youre wearing it, but it isnt heavy or bulky, and doesnt dig in (again, for me) or ride up. 3. Theres no app or Bluetooth connection required (therefore no spyware), and its incredibly easy to use - put it on, push one button, voila. 4. It charges quickly and has a long battery life. The cons: 1. You have to put it on before you turn it on so it can calibrate, but to turn it on you have to press a button thats literally squarely between your shoulders - very close to the spot you cant scratch when it itches, which is awkward. The button also doesnt have any raised markings or way to differentiate itself from the rest of the device body, so you may have to use a mirror to turn it on. 2. The vibration is super loud - theres no way you could wear this discreetly or out in public (unless your posture is immaculate I guess). 3. The fit may be an issue for the vast majority of adults. Im pretty slim (58 and 130lbs), and I had to almost max out the straps to be as big as they can get - I think someone with a larger body type or build might find it too small. 4. It just measures the angle of the device, so you can slouch the bottom of your back as long as your top stays straight. It also goes off any time you lean forward/bend over/bend side to side/reach for something or pretty much any time you move whatsoever. Its really annoying to have it go off over and over when my back itself is straight with my shoulders back, just because I need to pick up a pen from my desk or bend over to tie my shoes or pick up my child. 4. Theres no way to adjust the angle of measurement/sensitivity, nor adjust the strength of the vibration. If the vibration could be adjusted to be less strong and loud, there are a lot more places I could wear this. The way it is, I can only wear it at home. 5. The light that flashes if the battery is low is in the middle of your back, so you dont know when its about to die. All in all, I have mixed feelings about this gadget. I think its a good concept, but needs a few tweaks in functionality. I can only wear it for about 10-15 minutes at a time right now, but Im going to try and work my way up (some kind of training plan/use guidelines would be great day 1-5 wear 10 minutes twice a day, day 5-10 wear 15 minutes twice a day 10-15 15 minutes 3 times a day, etc). It has caused me to pay a lot more attention to my posture though (even after Ive taken it off), so I guess its helping do the job I want it to. With a few slight changes to make it more user friendly and customizable, it would be awesome.

Great for home use, but too loud for wearing discreetly in public

The media could not be loaded. I ordered this posture corrector for myself as I've been catching myself slouching more than I used to. This posture corrector from Withthesun comes with an instruction sheet that was easy to understand. The posture corrector is adjustable to fit a child to an adult. The straps just keep it against your back; they are not strong enough (nor meant to) pull your back into the proper posture position. This unit relies heavily on vibration to alert the user to straighten up. Here's where this device loses 2 stars.. this device is very loud when it vibrates. And it's not a soft, gentle vibrate, but more of an aggressive, strong vibration. So for the loudness of the vibration, I would not dare wear this in public while out and about. It'll be for home use only. Which greatly cuts back on how much I'll be using it. There is also a sound option to use with the vibration, but the vibration is so loud - that the beep is secondary to the vibration in relation to sound. I wish there was just a solo beep option as after about an hour, I'm done being vibrated on.

Helps address slumping

This item is a back brace posture corrector with a wireless rechargeable vibrating reminder should you hunch over 25 degrees. This version is meant for smaller adults. My wife is the one using this. It's relatively easy to get it on and you just have to adjust the straps to obtain the best posture. The only challenge is that to turn on the reminder system as you have to do a long press when it's on your back and then do short pushes to change the reminder mode from beep to vibrate. Not a problem when your partner is around. Included is a USB cable to charge it, which takes about an hour for a full charge. It seems to last quite a long time on a charge. The price point is most reasonable. Overall, a good way to work on improving your posture so you don't slump or develop tech neck from looking down at your phone.
