As a beekeeper myself I'm quite familiar with propolis, which is a substance bees create (like wax and honey) to close gaps in their hives. If you work with bees, you need to spend a lot of time scraping it up to loosen frames and boxes, because they'll use it to cement everything together. It's not uncommon for beekeepers to take a small chunk and chew it like gum for the reported health benefits - it won't win any awards for flavor, and it's incredibly sticky, but I think I'd still prefer that over taking this extract regularly. The potency looks good and it's a convenient way to take it, but the flavor is frankly awful (like a very strong bitter herbal liquor) and the alcohol concentration is so high my tongue is still numb 20 minutes after taking it. I think that's probably an unavoidable side-effect of getting this concentration in solution. The bottle does say it can be mixed with something like yogurt or honey to improve the flavor, but I'm not anxious to ruin a meal by trying! All that said, it does seem to be a high quality product. Tastes differ and not everyone can just pop out to the backyard to grab a fresh chunk of the real thing, so if you can tolerate the flavor you might find this a good option.

I'm sure this is a high quality supplement but it's taste is not for me. The alcohol is intense when taken directly. And it coated my mouth in a chalky feeling that immediately was necessary to brush my teeth. 25 minutes later I still taste it. So if you can get beyond the taste, as some reviewers say it isn't terrible to them, it's obvious possible. But I cannot suggest taking it directly. Especially, if like me, you are not familiar with propolis. I highly doubt I will be taking it again. My mouth still burns.

Overall: Recommended but you have to get used to the intense flavor. Hard to describe. But I could see some folks not connecting with this because of the taste. Seems to be helping immune function. Shout out to all the beekeepers out there. Cheers!

I have been using Bee and You products for several years now. I use their sprays and ready made shot drinks. I have noticed that there are other brands that make propolis that are not as strongly flavored but I do feel that thus brand makes superior products. I really wanted to try this one out. These are pretty potent at 30% propolis versus the 6% on the spray. As a result, I did expect the flavor to be more intense. Yet, after taking this, it really wasn't any worse than expected. The flavor still isn't great but I'm fine with it since I'm used to it also. I can take it straight as well. I would recommend this to others, especially for those familiar with this brand. I find this to be a very good product.

This product probably has multiple health benefit but I cant get past the taste. Propolis on its own doesnt taste that great but when added to food grade grain alcohol it is repellent. The alcohol flavor is extremely strong and astringent and completely dried out my mouth. I could taste it forever afterwards. You might be able to disguise the taste but I cant think of anything that would be strong enough so this is not for me.
