Very nice set of sketch liner in sepia. I just barely got these today so I cant say about the longevity and the ink lasting. It writes very smoothly, no hic ups. No smudges or shadows for the liners. The felt and the brush pens are very wet but didnt go through next page. I tested the set on tomoe river paper where i am going to use them in daily use. I cant say how the liners do in other type of papers.

I bought these and the Faber Castell brown pens at the same tie. The colors are almost identical between the different sets--both are a nice coffee brown, with little or no red to them. they seem waterproof, at least they didn't run when I smeared a finger of water on them. All pens work, they seem smooth, and handle nice. they also came in a nice little zippered pen bag. I look forward to seeing what I can do with them! No complaints though as they come right out of the box.

it honestly depends on what you're using them for, both sets have their strengths and weaknesses, but it depends on what you're looking for!! the bianyo brush tips are stiffer compared to microns, but i personally prefer this for lineart as i feel it's easier to control, but if you're looking to use them for calligraphy, it may not give you the flexibility you want. they are also lighter in colour and are more warm toned in comparison to the sepia/brown microns (note: microns have both sepia and brown variations apparently, i have no idea which kind i have since it's been years since i bought them ...) if you want a darker brown tone, then id suggest microns, but i prefer more subtle light coloured lineart so again, this wins in my book : ) the most surprising thing was that these hold up better to markers in comparison to the microns somehow... i rubbed multiple layers on the bianyo side in the water based markers test and it wouldn't budge at all, while the micron smudged to hell and back -- if you're using it for markers, these are actually better! haven't tested these on watercolour since i dont own any, but considering they held up better to water based markers, they'll probably be fine with those as well the one drawback is if you have very thin paper, these bleed more than microns do, but if you're using multimedia or thicker, then you'll be fine. They don't bleed that much anyway, but you can see some dots on the back side. (also the plastic casing of the pen is speckled with black and silver glitter which is lovely 10/10)

I liked the idea of three sets of pens - brown, black, and multi-color - at a reasonable price, even knowing that they could not be refilled like rapidographs or other drafting pens. I realize, however, that I was not thinking about the shelf-life of these pens. On the day I received them, three of the brown-ink pens were already dried out and had to be discarded. This led me to test ALL of the pens immediately. Happily, the rest of the pens (total 25) work fine, and I'm hoping they will, when tightly capped, maintain a reasonable ink supply. UPDATE: I talked with the company about the brown ink pens and they agreed, without any hassle at all, to replace them, telling me they had improved the pens. I received the new pens in the mail and THEY ARE FANTASTIC! The ink is rich, dark, and flows smoothly. The set of pens comes in a great newly-designed pencil case (with zipper) that is compact and useful. I recommend these pens for anyone wanting variety, good design, and a reliable product.

For the money this is a great set of drawing pens, ive spent the same price on just the black set at an art store, this allowed me to buy the Sepia and a set of colored line pens as well. I mostly do cartooning so I am uncertain as to just how much use the sepia or colored markers will get but they all appear to work well right out of the box. There is a fair amount of bleed through on standard college rule lined paper but that is to be expected with this kind of product. These are not the absolute best markers of their type but there is no reason not to buy them even if you are picky. the black is black and the sepia is a consistent tone from the finest line up to the brush pen, the colored pens all are of a rich tone quality as well and could be useful in the right situation. .OH, one last thing as an after thought; the carrying pouches are not of a great quality but with that said they are maybe a bit better than the traditional clear plastic folder that this type of marker traditionally comes in.
