Great flavor--with a bit of heat. I'll be buying more of this sauce.

I eat hot sauce on everything, but I've never tried bird's eye chili before. This stuff is HOT! Unfortunately, for me, that's kind of all it was. I didn't really perceive much flavor of any kind other than a bland "HOT" taste. The heat is a bit delayed. So, for me, I'd eat some and it would just be a little bland taste in my mouth, and then several seconds later, the heat would kick in. I was sweating by the end of my meal! Visually, this is a neon orange-red color with LOTS of little seeds, almost like tomato seeds. It's the dish in the center of my picture. I ate this on some fish sticks and spinach/broccoli blintzes. For me, a little bit goes a looooong way, so even though this bottle is kinda small, it will last me a bit. I liked this better after salting it a tad, and/or mixing it into some other sauces. That may be some kind of culinary blasphemy, but... my tastebuds thanked me.

I love the flavor, thought it's a bit spicy. Of course you'd expect a hot sauce to be spicy, but this is one of the hotter ones I've tried. When used sparingly it's tolerable, but with such a good taste I tend to overdo it a bit and then regret it when the food is a bit too hot to enjoy... lol I've tried several varieties of sauces from these guys (African Dream Foods) and they've all be great! Recommended. If you're like me and prefer less heat and more flavor, do check out the mild variety pack!

I have several of the African Dream hot sauces and salts. So far my family and I have liked everything offered on this product line. The most recent sauces weve tried are: The Jalanasco is a fermented sauce made from aged jalapeno peppers. Its milder than I expected and is tasty on avocado toast. Sweet Dream Sauce is exactly what it claims to be: Sweet. It works well with pork products. Try a dollop on top of cream cheese on toasted baguettes for an hors d'oeuvre. Its nice to have a bottle of non-hot sauce on the table for those who avoid the heat. The last one we tried is the Birds Eye Chilli Sauce. Heres a hot one thats unique as the bottle is loaded with the seeds. The difference between the Birds Eye and some of the other hotter options is that the heat goes away quickly. This is a great addition to a slice of pizza. These sauces are all delicious and unique. Another thing I like about the African Dreams line of hot sauces is that they dont sacrifice heat for flavor. Im quickly becoming an obsessive fan of the sauces and seasonings from African Dream. This birds eye chili sauce has a lot of flavor to go along with the elevated heat from the peppers. I know Ive had sauces made with birds eye chili peppers, but I couldnt pick out the flavor profile if you didnt tell me. The peppers almost come off neutral, or are are just covered up by the garlic and onion, but thats not a bad thing. You get a strong heat up front with a well balanced savory flavor at the end. Perfect for drizzling over pizza or fries, but could also be used for marinades and cooking as well.
