I've tested multiple cables now that claim to be capable of Thunderbolt 4 while not being certified for it. This is the first cable I've picked up that actually does it and doesn't immediately cause problems. My test configuration is a Macbook Pro 16" M2 Max connected to a Caldigit TS4 dock. Attached to that dock are an LG Thunderbolt 5k, 75hz display, and an HDMI Samsung 4k 60hz display. I also use the 2.5gbps Ethernet in the dock, and other peripherals. It's a rather heavily loaded dock, and so far only actual genuine Thunderbolt 4 certified cables haven't crashed and burned. Until now. You can see in my screenshot that the device tree is well populated with my TB devices. And both monitors are at full resolution and refresh rate. The cable tester is almost superfulous, but all pins are connected. (Ignore the 2 missing LEDs - That's a USB2 compatibility thing, and the reason why you have to flip over some USB-C cables when working with USB 2 devices). I'm going to go buy more of these, if this holds up long-term. Absolutely amazing cable.

The best feature of this cable is the flexibility (some cables are very stiff and just annoying to use or put away, this is not) so it would be good for travel. The fact that it's labelled with the data and power limits is great, because nobody will ever remember that but sometimes you need to know. Of course it works fine to charge your phone, but you're choosing this one over a cheaper cable because this also supports laptop requirements like high-speed data, high-wattage Power Delivery, and video. Unfortunately, I discovered I cannot use it for my intended purpose of connecting my Asus laptop to my HP monitor, but it's due to a fault in my own equipment and nothing was wrong with the cable itself. (I wanted an all-in-one cable for data, power, and video, allowing my HP monitor to function as a docking station, but I discovered that the monitor doesn't output enough power and the laptop only accepts 65 watts via USB-C even though it requires 180 watts to charge -- total design fail!). I was able to transfer data, power, and video via USB-C, so I can say all functions of the cable appear to work, but I don't have new enough equipment to push it to the spec limits.

Product seemed to be made well and was a good length. I used the cord for all of maybe 1 hour and it started going in and out. The usbc connection was loose in the cord, I had to position it in a certain way to get it work and not move it or it would go out. Very disappointing, had high hopes.

I've gotten a couple adapters from this BlueRigger brand, and this was my first cable. They are a great balance of affordability and high quality. With respect to this cable, I got it to replace the stock USB cable connecting my Lenovo Docking station to my laptop. This would give me more room to move my laptop to a shelf nearby, and not have to take up space on my desktop. I will say, after linking the cable via a USB4 coupler, this cable performs as expected. The laptop receives power from the docking station, and both monitors (1920x1080 and a 2560x1080 ultrawide) display as expected. This is fantastic! The only disappointment is that the end of the cable (with the aluminum shell) is ever so slightly bigger than the Lenovo provided cable, and the docking station does not allow it to be inserted directly, necessitating a USB coupler as well. To add to this, the cable must be connected in a specific direction in the coupler in conjunction with the lenovo cable. If it is flipped around the other direction, nothing will display of the monitors. This issue occurred on another USB4 cable as well, and I attribute both of these issues to the lenovo docking station, and not this cable (or the other cable). With respect to durability, this cable gets a big thumbs up. Aluminum end connectors, and a rugged woven design that still allows flexibility. Perfect! Like this cable, glad to finally have an extension for my docking station. At the time of writing this, the cable is 30%+ less than other brands with similar features. Very pleased with this cable and this brand.
