I like the purple color and the elastic band really well. I thought the paper was a little thinner than I expected but it will work okay for me for drawing and sketching. It has a pocket in the back, which I like but it is fairly thin too. I can see some crimping or denting along the edges of the cover and that is why I took off a star. I think it is okay for me but I would rather it didn't have that if I were giving it for a gift.

The paper is pretty thin and you could not get good results with wet media. That being said, I got this for my little nephew who is starting school and is really into coloring and making art, so he can have his own little coloring notebook without his parents having to get out a bunch of sheets of paper at a time, and that way they can keep all his first drawings together. He loves using his new big boy crayons and drawing dinosaurs. Perfect cute little gift for my little aspiiring artist!

This is the perfect size for the artist on the go, or just someone who wants to work on practicing or detail work without a large pad holding back where you can sit. The paper is a decent thickness and turns well in the book. The outer cover of the book is sturdy enough for drawing from any location (bus, park bench, couch, etc).

Nice feeling paper and cover. The paper feels similar to card-stock. Sharpie might bleed to the reverse side of the page but hasn't bled through to the next page in my testing. Like the little paper envelope on the inside of the back cover for storing paper. Binder coil is nice and doesn't seem like it'll cause issues or fall apart like some cheaper notebooks. And a minor but appreciated thing, the paper has trimmed round corners, so less likely to get unintentional corner bends. Though if you're the type to bend corners to keep track of pages or anything, might not be your thing. Overall, very happy with this sketchbook.

This a great little sketchbook. Heavyweight paper, smooth-open spiral spine and a strong cover. The elastic holds your place, or your book shut. My son loves to draw and this immediately became his new favorite sketchbook.
