Quality 90 Degree Cable

I am so thankful for this cable! I am using it with my Lenovo ThinkVision USB-C Hub Monitor with no issues. The USB-C cable that came with the monitor was stiff and would not bend easily. This got in the way of my computer mouse, pencil cup, and other things on my desk. With this Cable Matters cable, I'm now able to make a turn right out of laptop back towards the monitor. This has made a huge difference! I have not observed any changes to charging speed or video quality on the screen. It is also easy to unplug/plug.

This Cable Matters cable features a really convenient right angle design on one end, which I've been using with my 2023 MacBook Pro that stays on a laptop stand. This cable is nice because it doesn't stick out like other cables. It's a clean look. The cable itself is pretty standard, with a plastic coated jacket. The ends however are definitely more durable than other cables on the market, with thick plastic housings that feel well-made and sturdy. I tested the cable with my MacBook Pro pushing power and data, and it performs as listed. For the price, I think this cable is a great value - especially considering it's USB-4 / Thunderbolt 4 rated. Nice!

Works great with my Lenovo TB4 dock.

I got this to connect my Thinkpad X1 Carbon (9th gen) to its Thunderbolt 4 dock. Since I have the laptop standing upright in a stand with the USB port facing out towards me, I figured it would be nice to have a cable which is angled down towards the desk instead of flexing downward and putting extra pressure on the port. It seems to be sturdy and well-built, and my laptop works just as well connected to the dock with it as with the original Lenovo cable. All three monitors have stable connections and Lenovo's Vantage application reports that 92W charging is available, which I'm pretty sure is the most that the dock can handle over Type-C. No complaints!

Nice cable. I like the 90 degree angle for using it as a cable for a portable laptop monitor. Issue: the end on the cable is too short to use with any sort of case. I have a case on my Surface Pro and a case on my ipad that stick out far enough that the cable can't be used. But if using without a case, great cable.

TLDR; Out of over 50 USB cables I have tested this is first 1 meter (3.3 ft) USB4 cable that complies to all the standard. This a full USB4 40Gbps data cable with 240w EPR Power delivery support and actually has an internal resistance that within the standard. USB C cables are an enigma in itself, its a form factor which has about dozen functional variations. Its very hard for average user to know and verify any claim. The outrageous market claims and fakes bothered me so much that I bought and made a set of tools to test and verify them. I have tested over 50 different USB C cables, this is first one measure to all standards and doesn't cost arm and leg. This is not your phone charging cable so don't bother if your need is just charging phone. But if you need a cable to run your USB4 or Thunderbolt4 hub with multiple monitors etc and power your computer all with one cable, this is your cable. USB C cable variations: There are so many different types of cables that come in USB C format, Charge only, USB2, USB3, USB4, combined with E-Marker, and power delivery combinations. You can add the DP variations on the port etc. > This cable support all the data lines required for full USB4 or whatever you call it, there are many names for it. > I tested the cable up to 35Gbps with my USB 4 hub with no issue. > E-Marker in the cable reads as per the spec. I would like to mention here that I have tested many cables where the E-Marker read a spec that the cable actually doesn't support. > Internal Resistance: With the newer Power delivery standards these cables carry current that they never did earlier and was only done by the actual power supply cables. Therefore to actually do the task right the cable has to keep the IR within standard in order to minimize power loss, voltage drop and heating. It becomes difficult with longer cable as resistance increase with length. This is first 3.3 ft cable I tested, outside the major manufacturer (mostly computer / laptop makers) which is within the 5A IR limit. > I can't say for this particular cable but can see some Cable Matters cable in USB-IF certified list, search for USB-IF certified to find the list. Kudos to Cable Matters to make a good product at an affordable price.
