Works well, even with USB-C ports on video cards

I purchased this for my work laptop to let me use a 4k TV as a monitor with 60hz refresh rates (vs. the visually unappealing 30hz). It works very well, to the point that I now find myself looking to get another one so I don't have to swap between the laptop and my personal PC. The PC's video card itself only has one HDMI port, and display ports are a bit tricky to get 'right' for this level of refresh rate (+HDR). With this device, however, I forget I'm going over USB-C. I recommend it, whether you want to get the full power of a high-resolution display or need a better solution for a world of USB-C-only ports.

Excellent product! I did a lot of homework and asked the seller before buying this adapter. RESPONSE FROM MANUFACTURER-CABLE MATTERS: Yes, the adapter works to connect your laptop over the USB-C port with DisplayPort Alt Mode, or the Thunderbolt 3 port. Its exactly what I wanted and so far it works super reliably and perfectly. I am really impressed with the quality of the materials and build specs of the Cable Matters brand. If you are looking for a USB C to HDMI Adapter to connect your USB-C device with an HDMI device, you don't have to look any further than the Cable Matters Aluminum USB C to HDMI Adapter. Plugged the this adapter from a different 4K monitor into it, usb-c side into my laptop, and thats it! I was able to extend the display to my additional monitor. Just plug them together and set up in Windows 10 extend display mode. The additional 4K Ultra HD Monitor has different display area. Works exactly like it describes with no issues. I rarely write reviews, but this one is deserving. I'd recommend it to anyone. What a great value. I have been looking for something like this to use for a long time. Does the job!!!!
