I have mixed feelings about these cables, the cables themselves are of good build quality and their sound is basically pretty neutral and not noticeably colored or at least that my ears could hear. They sound good and are pretty flexible also not so heavy as to pull a small amp off of a table. I guess my only real concern is more with the Cable Matters warranty which was not as easy to make use of as I have experienced with other companies were one to need to make use of.

Did not use item so it was hard to tell. Banana clips did not work for my project.

I've been really happy with all of Cable Matters products and this was no exception. It's a well made 12 gauge speaker cable with good gold banana plugs on each end. A lot of people think it's a scam but using heavy 12 gauge wire on your speakers does make a difference compared to the usual "lamp cord" or thinner wire you often get. I have tested thick vs thin wires and you can hear a difference. If you went out and bought this grade of cable and connectors you could make the same cable yourself for a bit less, but then you have to assemble everything yourself, so for this price these ready-to-use cables are a pretty good deal. The only thing to watch out for, this is only ONE set of wires. That is, two conductors, enough to hook up ONE speaker. So if you are planning to hook up the usual two stereo speakers, remember to order two of these! The product listing is slightly deceptive, almost all the pictures give you the impression you are going to get two sets of cables, but you don't. If I'd read the page more carefully I would have noticed but I'm so used to getting speaker wires two sets to a pack I didn't notice that this was just for one speaker. Not going to drop any stars though, this was MY mistake. And even if you buy two, the price is still good for heavyweight speaker cable!
