I have tried about six of these adapters and every one has had some missing or quirky functionality except for this one. Some of them will cut the borders of the screen off, some of them only work for 60 hz, some of them don't work with HDR and some only work when my tablet is plugged in, it has been a nightmare. Finally with this one I get full 4K 120 hz and HDR and it doesn't cut the screen edges off. If you are like me and have been searching for an adapter that actually does everything it claims to do then this is the one to get.

I was looking for an adapter to help my DisplayPort 1.4-equipped PC drive my TV at 4k 120Hz. My TV only has HDMI (2.1) inputs, so I went ahead and bought this CalDigit DisplayPort 2.0 to HDMI 2.1 adapter. Immediately when it arrives, I notice the packaging says DisplayPort 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 (highlighted in red in the picture), but a new barcode sticker that says "DP 2.0 to HDMI 2.1" (highlighted in yellow) has been placed over the original barcode. Unfortunately there's no manual or labelling on the unit itself to help clear things up. So what did I get? I plug everything in and it only supports 4k @ 60Hz, which suggests that the item I received is DP 1.2 => HDMI 2.0. I figured "Hey, maybe this barcode sticker got put here by accident." and requested a replacement item. Replacement arrived the next day, same exact thing -- conflicting statements on the packaging, support only for 4k @ 60Hz. This is unacceptable. You can't advertise one thing and ship customers a different thing. There ought to be consequences for this kind of seller behavior. CalDigit can kick rocks.

I'm not compensated (or requested) to write this review, so it is my 100% honest opinion. I'm sharing this in hopes that it helps others. I am using 3 TCL 55" TVs as a triple-monitor setup for a home flight simulator, but my PC's video card (AMD 7900XTX) has 2 HDMI and 2 DisplayPort outputs. My issue is that my three TCL TVs only have HDMI inputs. The problem with this was that none of the DP-to-HDMI cords or adapters (I had several on hand and tried them all) would allow a resolution higher than 1080. I read somewhere that others experienced a similar issue, and its related the adapter or cord needing to being HDMI 2.1. I'm not an expert, but wanted to pass along that this adapter did the trick, and how I have several options above 1080p, which include my desired 1440p (2k) at 120 refresh rate, but also options all the way up to 4k. (I believe it will actually support higher, but limited by my tv being a 4k TV). If you are experiencing a similar issue, give this adapter a try as it solved the problem perfectly for me.

I've had this Active Adapter for two weeks now and it is working perfectly so far. I have it connected to my AMD XFX Radeon 7900 XT on the 1st display port output the furthest from the HDMI output. The HDMI cord is a Zeskit Maya 2.1 8K HDMI Cable 5ft that is then connected Yamaha RX-A6A Receiver passing through signal with another Zezkit Maya 2.1 HDMI. That cord is then connected to my Samsung QN75Q8DTAFXZA smart tv on an HDMI 2.0 input. Resolution is set to 2560 x 1440 @ 60 Hz and sound is set to 7.1 surround. I have had no problems so far with picture or sound. Unlike the Cable Matters 8K DisplayPort 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 Adapter with 4K 120Hz / 8K 60Hz which only worked for a week and then failed. I have not tested at higher resolution or frame rate because I game at 1440p and I am happy with the picture at that resolution. However, when I go to display properties to change the settings in Windows 11 the 120 Hz option is available. I was using the same setup and HDMI cables when the Cable Matters adapter failed and my screen resolution changed to 1920 1080 @ 30 Hz permanently. There was no option in display settings to change the resolution or frame rate back to what I wanted even after restart. I recommend this product if you are using similar settings and equipment.
