Great for multi-surface

The item is a lot more board like then imagined but still does its job very well. Its a sleek design can be placed anywhere and securely due to the strong adhesive. - Highly recommended as a large cat owner!

A great idea!

My cat doesn't like the twine covered scratching posts and has shredded the carpet areas on an otherwise perfectly functional post. He likes sitting on the perch. I hate to spend another $150 on a new one. This is thin enough to cut and the adhesive seems like it will stay attached for a while. Although I understand that the carpet needs to be thin enough to cut easily, I wish it was just a little more plush so the cat could get a better grip on it. All in all very useful though.

A Useful Tool!

I work with cats professionally and recommend using a product to allow a cat to still scratch on a surface rather than one that simply blocks them from using the surface all the time. This way, the cat still gets the need to scratch fulfilled and the scratching behavior doesn't go somewhere else and create more destruction. This product is great for protecting furniture from scratching while not accidentally creating more trouble for yourself. Best of all? The adhesive is strong enough to stay on when your cat scratches, but it can still come off if needed (or at least it did when I tested it). I'm glad I chose this!

Great for patching up torn areas!

Pros: - Easy to cut and patch up torn areas. Very easy to take several different cuts of the mat and blend in. Cons: - It comes rolled with the adhesive backing facing out. I'm guessing there might be a good reason to do this but I would have preferred it to be rolled the other way so that I can be easily applied to both round and flat surfaces. Not a big deal though, I just rolled it the other way for a few minutes before applying. - The adhesive is a bit weak, the adhesion is ok in the main area but appears to come off easily at the edges. A dab of glue does the trick though.
