I bought this ceramic bowl less for the slow feeding (though it does work like that since my dog has slowed down eating her food), and more for enrichment for my dog while she eats her meals. The textures supposedly make mealtime more interesting, and while I'm not 100% sure that's necessarily the case, my dog certainly enjoys meals out of this bowl a whole lot more than our old stainless steel one. This is easy to clean and is holding up well so far, so would recommend!

My cat had started scarfing his dry food so I was looking for a bowl to slow him down. After scrolling through countless plastic ones, I finally found this ceramic bowl. My cat has figured out how to eat out of it pretty effectively, but it still slows him down just enough to keep him from getting sick. Its easy to clean despite the ridges, although I do wish it was dishwasher safe.

I have two of these bowls, for my two fast eating Bichons. The bowl has slowed them down about 30%. It is shallow, but I feed 1/4 cup of food. My third dog ,who doesn't need to slow down ,keeps taking the bowl. I just bought her,her own. I love these little bowls and so do my dogs.

At around age 4, our Catwoman suddenly lost the ability to ration food. She now eats every meal like Fantastic Mr. Fox. It's a freaking blur. She's also a first-rate puzzle solver, so our donation box is full of meal puzzles that she defeated in seconds. This bowl does what it's supposed to: it slows down our Four-Legged Cuisinart. We were hoping that it would force her to hunt for her dry food nuggets and fish them out of the channels with her paw. She did that the first time, but quickly solved it to the point where she can get her face into the dish wherever she wants to. However, this dish has cut her pace in half. Even better, House of Flying Daggers hasn't upchucked one time since we got the dish; the slower pace is helping her keep the food down. The dish itself is beautifully made. The ceramic is very high quality. Its slippery finish makes it easy to clean. And it fits perfectly into the elevated cat feeding station, replacing one of her white bowls. The only thing I would change is that the rubber feet are stick-on, which means they'll inevitably fall off. In our case, we don't need the feet because of the feeding station.

Over the last few weeks, Ive turned cat slow feeder search into brain surgery. 5 feeders later, this style, with a base from CatGuru, works best for the cats and for me.
