Two things I like about this leash more than the previous wire-covered one I bought on ZeeBooth: 1. The wire is thinner and the leash is 6 rather than 5 feet, which means it's easier to loop around my dog's chest and through his martingale collar. 2. The handle is much nicer to hold than a wire-covered handle. Some people might prefer a wire handle if their dog would chew that too, but this is cushioned and very comfortable. I have had it less than a month but so far the stitching seems durable. One slightly annoying thing is that the neat little locking mechanism on the carabiner often locks itself. You can twist it open with one hand when you unleash your dog, so it's not a big enough problem to knock off a star, but it's a little irritating to have to do that when the carabiner itself is heavy duty and I don't foresee ever deliberately locking it.

The media could not be loaded. However it's better than a regular leash. My dog chewed the grey covers off of where the wire is looped and connected with a ferrule, the silver thing. In one pic you can see the wire end. Well at the other end of the leash he chewed off the vinyl cover to that end then it the actual wire frayed leaving sharp tiny wires sticking out. I went to a hardware store and found the 2 aluminum ferrules. You can see in the photo that I used the 2 ferrules making one of them cover the frayed end. I did have to cut the main wire of the leash to remove the old ferrule. Someone else may know how to remove it but it just wasn't worth the time to me. In the video you'll see that he won't chew the handle. That's because I soaked it in 1 cup of water with 3 Tablespoons of powdered citric acid = SOUR. This ratio was nothing but a wild guess on my part. I clipped it back on him while it was still wet. He clicked it a couple times and that was it. No chewing on that! I bought this in March and it's May now so the citric acid has lasted a good while.

My pup comes with me to work. Since hes still a pup, he cant quite be trusted to roam free so the 6 tether gives him enough room for most of my office space. Hes a chewer and hasnt been able to chew through! It swivels and the handles are comfy although i rarely use it.

This leash is just the right length to use with a puppy that is just learning leash manners! There's always a period when they want to challenge this strange new thing, and it's not good if they can chew through it in a few quick gnaws! They're much easier to train if the leash is unpleasant to bite (this one is plastic coated cable!) and doesn't break when challenged by little puppy teeth! It's also just he perfect length to keep them at heel easily, and is brightly colored in a shade dogs see very well, also helping training efforts. It's sturdy and strong, and would be handy in inclement weather too, as it's not prone to soaking up water like a woven leash is. I really like this leash!

This is a wire leash that is coated in plastic. I live in the country and my dog is normally outside with me if I'm outside. No worries. But my parents live in town. If I'm over there working on something outside I can drop the dog's leash over the trailer hitch. He can see me, etc, but I don't have to worry about him and traffic, pedestrians, etc. Except that last time I was going back and forth around the corner of the house so he couldn't see me sometimes and chewed through his normal leash. This will solve that problem. He might chew through the plastic covering but not the wire.
