The media could not be loaded. There were comments about this being plastic encased silicone. I sacrificed one to find out if the covering was removable. No, it is not. The silicone filling is sticky. You can trim the edges of the plastic encasement. I find that it works perfectly as is and washes up well under the tap. But in case you are wondering, yes is is plastic wrapped.

This is not a silicone sponge. Maybe the gel inside is silicon based, but the outside of the sponge is plastic. It feels a bit like I imagine using a gel shoe insert placed in a sandwich bag would feel. It is probably only moderately more effective than that setup, just because it is at least easier to hold. The outside material is stiff with big seams around the edges that are hard and sharp. Using these is a nightmare. My hands work better than these.

I love how smooth product looks on my skin with this sponge. Almost as perfectly blended as a Beauty Blender but I can actually sanitize it. When Im out driving around or away from a sink, I can reapply sunscreen even when I am not able to properly disinfect my fingersI have a phobia of touching my face without perfectly clean hands.

It doesnt glide my foundation on as smoothly as it claims

These sponges are definitely very easy to use the only complaint I have with them is how hard they feel. I mean its not as flexible or soft as i thought it would be. But other than that they are very nice to use for your makeup that doesnt absorb all the makeup in an regular sponge.
