Even though it says midnight black, I got a navy blue color and it is a navy blue. Disappointed I really wanted to try this in the color I wanted.

I was excited about this color but this is not even close and there is zero chance the example photo even came from this product. The shadow is a much harder texture than these typically are so when applying it does not go on like a soft cream shadow but more like taking one of those wet and wide pencil sticks and trying to grind some color out of it. It's also difficult to layer since it's somewhat oily so gliding it over the same spot doesn't seem to add much color but instead just seems to move the existing product around a little and creates a grease layer of pale color. The color also has a light gold undertone rather than a pink/purple tone so the color is much warmer than photos make it appear. Overall it just feels like cheap drugstore makeup might work okay for some and it is a good price but you definitely get what you pay for here.

I was hesitant with the Midnight Blue Shimmer at first, fearful it would be too bright and clown-like. I was wrong! The blue isn't nearly as shocking as the description picture, more muted, which is a pleasant surprise! It is buildable coverage however, so you have the control to make it as subtle or bright as you prefer. I love the dual end applicator design, so portable! Color glides on easily. I tend to just use a little in the creases of my eyelids to give my eyes a little depth and lift. The smudge tip is smooth and allows ideal control to do exactly as it promises and simply blurs the color a bit for better blending. Takes up very little space in my cosmetic bag, so having it with me daily adds no bulk to my purse whatsoever. The color does last! I'm in healthcare and wear protective eyewear and a mask daily to work on my patients and this color doesn't sweat away or lose its color throughout the day, a huge plus! This one has impressed me so much, I'm considering other colors too! Price point is fantastic for a color stick of this quality, so don't hesitate! Grab a safety shade you know you'll like, then one you'd never considered trying before and you may just find a new favorite! Fun!
