Cheaper than Creative Labs but overall poorer sound.

Feb 20 2024 received: For the price, they aren't bad at all. I have them sitting under my monitor. Anyone who says that the LED's are too bright must have their monitor brightness turned way down. The Bass is pretty strong for 2" speakers, but the high tones are somewhat overshadowed by the bass. They put out good volume though. Mar 3 2024 they died. PC booted and no sound. Sound was present the night before, but this morning, no sound. Unplugged and replugged, tried different USB ports, deleted the USB entries and plugged them back in - the LED's light right up but there is no recognition from Windows that anything is being plugged or unplugged. Mar 7 2024 I pulled them from one PC and plugged them into another PC and they magically began to work again. I replaced them in their original place and they still are working. bumped my rating back up a bit. If they survive another month, I'll put it back to 5 stars, but this was still weird behavior.

I didn't expect to like these. I bought them solely for a shit output for zoom/teams/discord calls. I had one expectation; they were going to be trash. I can't express to you how amazing of a deal these are. The highs are surprisingly crisp, mid-range doesn't suffer at all except for the very bottom and as for bass... There's a little bit of bass from them. I can't believe these little $10 things have sound like this. Now, you're not going to be getting studio quality so don't expect a miracle, but for ten lousy bucks this may be the best value purchase of my 2021. Things to keep in mind: 1. They require a standard, USB type A port for power as well as an aux/headphone/line out port for the actual audio. 2. Anyway you can supply power from a USB and an audio feed via aux cable you can run these things. Desktop. Phone and battery pack. Phone and wall. Phone and 12v car charger. The possibilities... well, they're not endless but you get it. 3. There is an inline volume knob so you can squeeze those extra decibels out of the cheap speakers. And this is the only place they suffer. If you go too loud it distorts and sounds like it could cause some damage to the speakers if done for too long. The knob is of very poor quality. I put it right in the middle and threw a dot of glue on it to immobilize the wheel. Do whatever you want. 4. Even if you don't need them right now these would make a great addition to any camping trip or outside event. You want them. I'm going to get another set for work. Buy them for your kid. Just buy them. You won't be sorry.
