Great for many things

This power supply is awesome. It was great to use with a variety of items. I love the changeable tips which were easy to switch out and use. It was made well and a great value.

Good universal replacement

I got this mainly for the adapter pieces but I needed a spare 12v power supply so this was a two birds one stone scenario. It all works as described. The only thing I don't really like is there is a bright blue LED power indicator on the power supply. If you are going to use this in a place like a bedroom where you don't want the glow, look elsewhere or cover it with some black tape.

Good universal power adapter option

I recently purchased an electronic device that came with the wrong power adapter for the US. I got this power adapter since the manufacturer of the electronic device would not help me. This power adapter works great. It has plenty of power to it, and has all of the tips that you could possibly need.

I got this to replace a charger I lost...

I bought an electric (rechargeable) wine opener a few months ago, and when it came time to open a bottle of wine, the opener needed to be recharged... but I couldn't find the charger anywhere! I asked the other people I live with if they'd moved it, but nobody remembers even seeing the charger, let alone moving it. So, I went looking around on ZeeBooth, thinking I might be able to find a replacement charger, and I came across this amazing set!!!! The charger hole for my wine bottle is very narrow, but I didn't know exactly what size, so this set takes all the guess work out of what size I need to get! As it turned out, the size I needed is the 3rd narrowest one in this set. Within 30 minutes of getting this set at my doorstep, my bottle opener was fully charged, and I have a universal set of charger adapters in case I need to replace any other comparable charger cord that goes missing. I didn't even know a set like this existed until I was desperate enough to go looking for it, and I'm so glad I found it, because it answers my needs perfectly!

a worthy 12 V power supply

First off I like the form factor/orientation of the plug prongs on this adapter. On most outlet strips (but not every one; if you have the wrong type, this adapter will probably cover 2 additional outlets), it will give you room for other plugs to fit in adjacent outlets. Surprisingly, none of the photos on the product page show this, but there is a blue LED that lights when the power is on. When the supply shuts down due to over-current on the load, the LED blinks to indicated a fault (unless you really short it out... then the LED is off). Nice feature. On my first sweep of this supply, voltage v. load current, I was able to get over 1.4 A out of it (you can clearly see in the included plot that voltage started to rapidly decay above 1.4 A). However as it heated up, the supply would shut down from time to time, unless I kept the current at 1.1 A or below. As it's specified at 1.0 A, this is perfect; you can get a little more than claimed, but if you stick to the 1.0 A or lower, you'll be assured of getting consistent power out of this adapter. The case never got uncomfortably hot under any load condition I tried, whether maximum load before shut down, or an overload that caused the supply to periodically cycle on and off. This is better behavior than many adapters I've tested. As with any power supply of this type, the wire being permanently attached to the adapter at the plug end, you're pretty much stuck with significant voltage drop at higher currents, and the incentive for the manufacturer is to cut back on cost by using less copper in the wire. See my plot: at near-zero current, voltage was about 12.35 V, and linearly decreased with current. At 1.0 A, the voltage was down to about 11.7 V. So, like many power supplies of this sort, the voltage is set a bit higher than the nominal 12 V, and the voltage is let to sag as the current increases, providing just enough voltage at maximum load. For this adapter/cable combo, total wire resistance is inferred to be 0.626 Ohms based on volage drop v. load current from 0.2 to 1.0 A. That's not stellar, but likely acceptable for the vast majority of applications. I'm planning to use this power supply for some electronics projects; it appears well-suited for a variety of uses, and I like that it seems to be robust under any load condition you put it into.
