These are probably the best remedy on the market for a mouth ulcer. When you get them to adhere properly, they truly do stay on for hours and during meals. However, they are very pricey and only come in a pack of 6. If you don't properly dry the sore area and hold it in place for awhile, the whole tablet will come off and then it's useless and can't be reused. It's a pricey error when you only get 6 to begin with. So essentially I think these are probably the best product on the market for targeting ulcer pain but getting them to stick can be tricky and they are much pricier than anything else on the market.

Had a very traumatic dental appointment, too much Novacaine was administered, and I bit my cheek so badly. Having these on hand was a lifesaver! They help heal the damage almost overnight. Best to use them at night. Ive been using them for years, and I always make sure to keep a box on hand for when I bite my cheek while eating and talking luckily, it doesnt happen that often. Theyre very expensive, it would be nice if they offered a box with more covers per box, it seems like such a waste to only get six of them in a box. You need them, though theyre worth every penny. Keep in mind, you use the white side on your gum or cheek. The directions are not very clear about this. Theres a pink side and a white side. Not sure how much it matters but its hard to find those instructions.

I gave this item a try out of desperation. Those of us afflicted with canker sores, especially in odd locations inside the mouth, know the unrelenting suffering that comes with a flare up. After reading all the reviews about this item and having nothing left in the house except a salt and water rinse option, I decided to try ONE tablet, just to see if it would help. It was really difficult to affix to the sore - the tablet is bulky and the sore was not in a flat location. Just as I got the pill stuck to the sore, it kind of also stuck to my finger (yes I followed the instructions about how to apply) and pulled slightly away from the sore which caused a lot of pain. The tablet sat in the spot for about 35 minutes then it started to gel and congeal. It didn't feel so bad at that point, just kind of bulky. I sensed the slight menthol taste but it wasn't overwhelming. About two hours later it had expanded significantly and became a giant-sized slime blob. It eventually started to stick to a few nearby teeth. That wasn't the problem so much as once it started to stick elsewhere it tugged away from where it was supposed to be so there was kind of a ripping feeling away from the sore and of course more pain. It's a very difficult thing to manipulate and if you attempt to, be prepared with tissues and swabs and lots of uncontrollable drooling. Like another reviewer, I attempted to "trim" the outer parameter of the blob and gently used a toothpick on the outside area of the sore. Unfortunately, what remained of the sticky blob just kept expanding in its place. I decided to just leave it be and let it run its course as it seemed way too risky to remove it. In the end, it didn't contribute to healing the sore but it did cover it up for a few hours. I have yet to find a good OTC product that works to alleviate the pain, as well as the canker sore itself. Most, like this, are very expensive and yield mixed results at best.

The first time I used this it worked great but the second one would not stick for nothing. After a good look I found that both sides were pink. I tried to sand off the side with the least amount of the pink surface but I never got any of the 5 to work. I still have one that I didnt use. Product is expensive for just 6 tablets but I only used half of one each time which doubled the number. I was skeptical about them actually working but was amazed that they really did what they said they would do. Only had to use three times and the canker sore was healed

I have used this product (and the version that used to be made by DenTek) for years. These Dentemp Canker Covers are nearly identical to the DenTek version (DenTek no longer makes theirs). These work great! Yes, they do form a goopy gel-like blob barrier while they work; which can feel a bit slimy. If you have to position the cover near your lips then the goopy gel-like blop can show a bit while you talk while wearing them. I don't care, the relief from the pain is sooooo worth it. You can even drink and eat while wearing them, as long as you chew on the other side of your mouth and carefully (take small bites). You want to be careful not to catch at the gel blob, you do not want to forcefully pull it off. You need to allow the blob to dissolve slowly (which takes about 6 to 8 hours) as that is what really assists with the healing. They do have a minty menthol taste, similar to old original Listerine. The taste does fade after about an hour or so. If you wear the Invisalign braces trays, as I do, you will find that you get a lot of mouth sores where the oral buttons rub on the inside of your mouth when the trays are out. These Dentemp Canker Covers really help to soothe that pain and heal those sores. IMPORTANT: When you first apply these Canker Covers notice that the exposed side of the cover has an orange-pink vegetable dye coloring. Be sure to allow time for that colored dye to dissolve (about 30 minutes) before you put your trays back in. Otherwise, the dye will stain your trays. My sores are stubborn. It takes 2 to 3 applications to fully heal them. They are a bit spendy for the little you get (the price shown is for one box of 6) I still think they are worth it. I get canker sores often enough that I buy several boxes of these Dentemp Canker Covers at a time; so that I can always have some on hand.
