This is great as now we can keep an eye on our blood pressure at home.

With all the fancy electric blood pressure monitors on the market, there's a reason many doctors and nurses still use a manual blood pressure device. It's not as easy to use, but it's really easy to learn and once you learn how to use it, it provides very accurate readings. There are no batteries to worry about, no electric components that can fail or break. This is a very high quality device and provides my whole family with very accurate blood pressure readings. It comes in a nice bag and is portable for travels. I really recommend this manual blood pressure device.

This is a nice manual blood pressure cuff that is very useful to make sure your electronic blood pressure monitor is working accurately. There is some assembly required to connect the bulb/valve, manometer (which has a handy clip on the back), to the rest of the cuff assembly. A carrying case is also included which is appreciated. The cuff is designed for arms 22-36cm circumference. The sphygmomanometer can be used with or without a stethoscope (which is not included). It's a bit difficult to use this on yourself but with some practice it is possible.

Working in a hospital, I learned the importance of not always relying on an automatic blood pressure machine, especially if it vastly does not make sense or match what is expected. That is why every room in most hospitals have a manual BP device, allowing for a real time manual check. Now such reliability is possible at home. This works very well. Easily, if you know what you are doing. It has mostly matched both of our automatic blood pressure machines, so I know that it can be trusted. It is easy to read, and understand the scale. It only comes with a single standard sized BP cuff, so if you are smaller or bigger, you will need to get a correct sized cuff. (Using a wrong-sized cuff will give inaccurate readings.) This works best if 2 people are using it, one the tester and the other the testee. It is possible to use on yourself, but not recommended.

We are currently monitoring a loved ones blood pressure at home. We have a digital arm cuff machine, and a wrist machine, but they dont seem to be giving us accurate readings, and they arent really within range of what we see at the doctors office when the nurse takes a manual reading. So, were excited to try out this Dixie EMS cuff and see if we can better monitor the situation. The quality and design of the actual cuff and pressure gauge seem to be great. All of the stitching and tubing attachments appear to be nicely produced. The cuff has images printed on it to help with proper placement. The gauge itself has pretty clear measurement markings which are easy to read. The size of the cuff seems just right for our loved one. Now, this sphygmomanometer does NOT include a stethoscope, but we have one of our own in our medical kit. I have to admit that Im only at the very early stages of learning how to properly use this device, but I have confidence that with continued practice Ill become familiar and more adept with it very soon. I have no reason at this point not to give this item five stars, however I do want to mention that it would be nice to see them offer a complete kit that included a stethoscope.
