Had to try this for my rescue dog once his nails started growing so long that they were curling under his paw pads Nothing worked for him, tried every method every gadget literally everything made this dog freak out. His nails got long to the point it could injure him in the long run so before throwing in the towel for good and just taking him to the groomer for the rest of his life I saw this and gave it a try. I'm so glad I did. This thing is the only thing that worked. He still was uneasy and struggled but he did give up and let me trim. This thing is a life saver and I'm so happy that my dog can run around without his nails being in the way. My rescue is a Chihuahua Italian greyhound mix and he fit perfectly in the medium size. If you dont have anywhere to hang your dog you can def use your closet (for smaller dogs) I chose this hammock over the others because they are secured in this one and actually strap in. My dog did try to hang on to my arm and started tilting up, if that strap wasn't there he coulda fell out. So I def recommend this over the others. I just wish they had a cheaper option without the nail trimmers.

The quality of this grooming sling is exceptional. The material is a strong breathable mesh and the straps are sewn on with heavy reinforcement stitching. The velcro pads at the point of closure make it easy to get on your dog and situated properly. The strap in the middle is very wide with velcro closures which helps secure and stabilize your dog and the sling. All I wanted was a good quality sling, so the file and the nail clipper are nice, but I will probably never use them as I use a Dremel Pet Grinder on my dogs nails. After looking at many grooming slings, this one far surpassed the features that I was looking for. I am of the opinion that the easiest way to hang this grooming sling is from a wooden interior beam or rafter / joist with two wood eye screws and a length of chain. Inexpensive, and easy to accomplish. UPDATE: We have now had the chance to use this sling for the first time to grind the nails of our 60 lb. Australian Cattle Dog / Keeshond Sadie and it was a phenomenal experience! It was easy for Sadie to step into the sling and the Velcro pads and the wide Velcro center strap made it a breeze to comfortably secure her prior to lifting her up. Suspending her from this sling, Sadie was comfortable, secure and stress free for the first time while grinding her nails. I believe an added feature is the fact that your dog can't see what you are doing while in the sling. I am thrilled with my purchase and would highly recommend this product.

I've tried the expensive rescue harnesses but they are heavy and bulky for backpacking. Always wanting to make sure I have a way to rescue my dog in the event he gets bit by a snake or has another injury on trail, someone in a hiking group recommended a grooming harness. This harness works perfectly and seems more comfortable than the official rescue devices. It folds small and is super lightweight. I can easily carry my 35lb dog to safety in an emergency.

The only reason that I gave this 4 stars is because the size and weight capacity description of the product seemed a little misleading. The first time I ordered it I got the XXL because the description said the weight capacity was 65lb max. Our dog is at least 50lbs so I wanted to make sure it would hold her. That one was way too large, so I ordered the XL, which fit her better, although slightly snug around her broad shoulders (30" around) but I could still fasten it. If you look at the size chart instead of the product description, it gives a much different weight capacity guideline. Also, I wouldn't classify our dog as an Xlarge dog. She is more like med/large at about 50lbs. That being said, it certainly did the job. It still takes 2 people, but made an impossible job very do-able. She HATES getting her nails trimmed. Once up in the hammock, with my husband able to hold her still, it took only a few minutes.
