I rotate these capsules with another product that comes in powdered form which I drink in my smoothies. When Im in a rush, I substitute Dr. Emils Multi Collagen Plus Capsules for my overall well-being. The combination of all the different types of collagen is amazing but usually very hard to find in one product. Thank you Dr. Emil! Ive been taking collagen products for years now and read a lot of different opinions on their effectiveness for overall health; heres what Im using collagen for: Skin: Im in my late sixties and my skin has lost its elasticity. 3 years ago I developed a nasty itchy rash and after taking medications for over 9 months, collagen helped me heal the ugly scars. It really helped even out my skin tone and wrinkles. Hair & nails: I have rheumatoid arthritis and been taking low dosages of a chemo drug as well as an immune suppressant for over 17 years with ugly side effects. Collagen helped my hair grow again, with a healthy shine, less brittle frizz, less hair loss and breakage. My nails are stronger and no longer peeling. Joint support: RA is chronic and eats away on the synovial fluid of the joints. There is no cure but collagen in various forms, fish oil, Chondroitin, glucosamine, hyaluronic acid in addition to a multi-vitamin have really helped my medications work better and I can definitely tell a difference in joint pain and ease of getting around. No, non of the above mentioned supplements are a cure-all but help me tremendously to stay out of a walker/ wheelchair and allow me to stay on my own. Dr. Emil has really out-done himself with these capsules and I really thank him for creating ONE concentrated capsule with all the different types so I dont have to take 5 different capsules/pills to achieve what Im doing now with taking 3 capsules a day at the optimal dosage.

I first heard about the collagen supplements on TV, in the powder form, and did not buy it but thought about it. I am covered in stretch marks and my skin was so dry that it always itched. Now my skin almost feels like I put lotion on it, even when I had not. My skin is soft now and feels tighter. I have hormonal acne, and it has helped with it some but will not cure it. I noticed that I sleep deeper, and I am not so hungry late at night. I used to get extreme hunger pains before bed, and I do not diet. I take one pill with breakfast, one around lunch, and the last pill a hour or so before bed. It has been three weeks that I have taken these pills, and I feel more energy during the day too. My clothes fit a little looser, and I have not weighed myself. But, I did notice some of my clothes that were tight have more give. And, I have not changed my diet in any way. Also, I used to have my knees crack sometimes when I would do squats (body-weight issue), but that has not happened anymore. This is not a miracle pill, and I have only taken it a few weeks and have no idea what would result long-term. I do not think it can cure anything, but I think it can help greatly. I would buy this again. The only draw back is that I pass gas all the time now. From a.m. to p.m., my family notices I pass gas but does not know why. It must be that my body is digesting it slowly. I feel it working, but I would not have this much gas if I digested it well. My experience is that you look and feel better, but you may pass gas more than you are comfortable to admit. The pill does not have a taste, as it is a capsule. I have not had pain issues, so I could not give a five in that category as there was nothing to improve there. But, I noticed it helped with my joints. Now my bones do not crack. I am thinking of taking Betaine HCL w/Pepsin with it, as I used to take it years ago for digestive issues. I stopped taking Betaine HCL after it fixed my digestive issues and I was able to get off Proton Pump Inhibitors. It was great for heavy meals and I also too it when my body took longer to digest things. I may take them both in the future and see what my results would be. At the very least, I may stop passing gas. It is not a problem during quarantine, but eventually I will be out in public again.

I have been taking these for about 3 weeks, will update my review in another 6 weeks or so. I bought these hoping they would help assist my recovery from an ACL tear and 2 other broken bones in my knee that happened in January and I wish I had bought sooner. I had not been noticing much improvement in my knee until I began taking these. Now, I actually feel like it is healing. Less pain and more range of motion. Also, my nails are growing like crazy and my hair is healthier and is is actually less greasy as well. My skin seems about the same, but we will see as time goes on. You may want to start out taking less than recommended at first. I was taking 2 capsules after breakfast and it caused a lot of bloating and upset stomach for me so I have been taking 1 after breakfast and 1 after dinner. I do have alot of IBS problems though, so these may not bother you. I plan to start taking the full 3 capsules a day soon though. So far so good and I'm excited to see what results I have within the next 6 weeks.
