My 9 year old grandson was struggling to understand long division. Thanks to the white board outline provided, he quickly was able to understand the long division He also reinforced his multiplication math facts by filling it. Recommend for any third to fifth grader.

So many great things about this whiteboard. It's a good size for students to work on at their desk. I love the color-coded box side for my beginner 4th graders who are just working with long division for the first time - the color-coded boxes are well thought through so that it makes it easier for students to remember where to write the next step, let alone keep everything lined up properly. The opposite side is helpful for students building on their long division skills. I like that it has room for longer problems, and extra columns for students who know to add decimals and continue the problem to hundredths or thousandths. I also like that there's enough room under the divisor to list multiples of the divisor for students who are learning/practicing multi-digit divisors (pictured) and still benefit from the guidelines to keep everything lined up. The board also erases beautifully without leaving a trace (though we've only used it a few times, so we'll see how it holds up to repeated use. It's a good sign that it erases so cleanly without smudges or staining early on). My ONLY qualm is that I wish there was more room for larger divisors on the side for more advanced students - as you can see from the picture, trying to write a 2-digit divisor makes the divisor a little squished compared to the roominess in the rest of the columns - it would be especially helpful when teaching dividing BY decimals where there's more going on with the divisor. It's still possible and helpful, a little extra room would just be extra nice. Overall, this will be SO helpful for several of my students and we will use this often throughout many division units.
