I got these markers as I always wanted to try my hand at hand lettering, or calligraphy, but only studied it briefly, long ago, in a junior high art class. These are nifty little brush stroke markers - the ink flows smoothly without the usual marker squeaks as the nib dries up a little and you need to reposition it in your hand to find more ink. I like that you get not only two types of writing nibs in one marker, but that you also get three markers. This means you don't have to stop and cap one brush end to then uncap the other marker at the opposite end. You can just uncap the fine tip on one marker and the broader tip on another if you need to jump from fine to thicker strokes. I like that. And you can always cap the marker not in use so the brush won't dry out. The drawback to having both tips on one marker is of course you only have half the ink for each tip as you would if they were two separate markers. As you can see in the images, I just tested out each of the two tips on one pen, and I was able to produce four distinct types of lines. (I do not claim to know how to actually do any calligraphy at this time!) From the top to bottom, I wrote using: The tip of the fine point. The side of the fine point. The tip of the broad brush. The side of the broad brush. That's enough variety for a beginner like me! My inner junior high artist was delighted and I look forward to learning more about using these brush pens for calligraphy.

I use a lot of this type of drawing pen in my illustration work. I've never used this brand before and I find them to be well made, good ink opacity with a good sized barrel. The pen is a bit fat for my hand which can affect my accuracy with fine line. My work is detailed and intricate. That being said they are excellent for script style calligraphy with brush end. I can't speak yet to how long they'll last as regards ink supply and durability of the tips. Price is comparable, standard with other brands I use. The one drawback for me is that the ink is not waterproof.

I just started doing calligraphy for fun and only had a couple I got with a kit so I wanted to try some different ones out. I think these are pretty beginner friendly and move smoothly without too much effort. Im not an expert so Im not sure how to rate the different sizes, but they all worked just fine for me. Ive found I prefer a more medium size but maybe thats just personal preference and nothing to do with the product. The fact that there are 6 tips is great, the less space taken up the better for something Im not super invested in yet.
