Pros: - The toy is very intuitive to learn and play. It takes very little time for a young child to get acclimated to how to use it. - The concept of the toy helps toddlers who are getting used to vowels gain an understanding of which sight words are associated with which letter sounds. Cons: - Limited amount of sight words with no option to increase or download more sight words. - Volume can be loud for some situations and there is no way to adjust it down. Overall, I most certainly recommend this sight words toy.

I got this as a tool for my son who doesn't like reading, so he doesn't like practicing. This has happened in other areas, and once he finds a way to practice that he enjoys, he excels. I thought this would be a more enjoyable way for him to practice, but he quickly beat all the levels so put it aside. I asked him to try it again and see if it was different this time (I think he thought it would be the same every time) and see how much he liked it compared to "practicing reading," and he said it was a little bit harder and a little bit different that time, which was a good thing! So in case anyone comes across something like that, encourage them to give it one another try and see how they feel about it. As a helpful tool it's a great price, but it IS pretty specific, so as long as you're aware of your child's needs, if this falls within them I think you will find it quite helpful. In my son's case, in addition to the reading part I think the movement is good because he's a mover, and the immediate feedback really helps him. One thing to be aware of, at this price the sound quality isn't stellar. There are some words that sound similar and while my son seems to be able to tell them apart, sometimes I can't. So I don't know if it's my hearing or him just getting lucky =) I would also like if it had more levels. If they made a bigger, better version of this with more variety, more levels, higher quality sound, etc., it would probably be worth the higher price. Thank you for reading, I hope it was helpful.

Bought for my 6yr old to practice sight words. Its easy and fun for kids to use. Would recommend.

This educational sight word game is great! It teaches in a fun way that kids don't even realize they are learning. My kids are a little old for this 9 and 10, but they do sometimes still need a little help with spelling, and this has been a fun way to go about it. This game works well and is easy to use.

Pros: - Easy to use/figure out - Battery cover (3AAA) has a screw so kids can't accidentally lose the batteries - Would probably keep a very early learner/reader occupied for a short period of time Cons: - it says it uses 185+ words, but they're used repetitively - sound is loud but muffled, no volume control - "full" and "pull" and "then" and "them" are options at the same time, but difficult to differentiate which ones were said - boxes for the letters in the viewer are confusing, not sure why some letters are grouped together and others aren't. Obfuscates the educational aspect. If a curious little one were to ask me, I wouldn't have the answer. - 2 levels each for 2 simple games, 10 words per game, no increasing challenges for excellent learners I ordered this for my 5-y/o niece (and eventually my 2-y/o nephew) and other kids who come to my house. Once I see how they like it, I may update the rating.
