Easy to use and well built.

Got these to make a fun memory game for my kids. All 5 switches and all 5 LEDs worked on arrival. They also came with an extra switch and a replacement LED for each color. I hooked them up to my bench tester and the LEDs draw 17ma if you are looking to inline a resistor.

I needed a big push button for a small electronics project. Considered 3D printing it but thought before I went through the trouble of designing one and figure out how to make the mechanics work that I would see what could be found already made. The price-point for these 5 was just low enough that I didn't see much point in trying for my own if it works. First note - and perhaps not a surprise - these are made to be mounted in a box/case. And it has to be a relatively deep case too - think "emergency stop" button kind of case. The electronics is an "end stop" with leeds for a led with resistor that's inside a little housing that is easily inserted/replaced if you need to. The color comes from a diffused thin piece of plastic under the light/button dome - not the led. From my test, the LED works fine with 3.3v and 5.v and past 6.v I don't see any additional brightness. It's not the brightest of lights, but plenty that you can see the dome light up except if you're in a very bright room. I am using mine with 3.3v and it's plenty to show indication/status. Another thing that would have been nice is CLEAR markings of anode and cathode on the light leads. Granted, it's a quick test to determine which is which, but a sticker or SOMETHING would have been nice. And if you're used to end-stops you know exactly what each lead does without documentation. The description here is really bad - it shows 12v which I presume is for the end-stop not the LED. It would be very nice to indicate the mA for the LED as that really impacts what lights I can/want to use (ie. the resistor size!). I really like how simple the mechanism is, and knowing I have drawers full of old end-stops I feel like I lack in imagination and could have designed this too. Simple/cheap does it every time. You can take the unit appart with the except of the top dome - it feels glued/melted in place. And note to the wise - if you can AVOID getting the spring out do so, it's not fun trying to get it back into place, but it's doable. Interesting/odd observation - I haven't seen the need to debounce the switch/end-stop in my tests. I'll still do that, but it does show the end-stop is of good quality.

Good for a making a DIY kid game. Big buttons gameshow style (was gonna use these for buzzer boxes). 5/5
