This is a nicely made hollow cast ceramic bowl. There were no flaws in the glazing and it has a smooth finish that is easy to clean. Hollow cast bowls like this one are much lighter weight than solid ceramic ones, and as a rule are more easily broken depending on how thick the ceramic actually is. The bowl is okay for food, but the steep tilt of the top edge means it doesn't hold very much water. Finally, for a young cat the height of the bowl is fine, but a fully grown cat they will still be bending down to reach the food. Two inches taller would be better.

This isn't a water dish because of the angle it is at and not a dish for dry food because it wouldn't hold much kibble. It is perfect for wet food. Our kitty tends to gobble her wet food and often experiences it coming back up a short time later. It was suggested to me to get an elevated dish for her. She is a fairly large cat and now she doesn't have to bend down quite so much to get to her wet food. The dish is wide enough not to cause whisker fatigue. It washes up nicely in the dishwasher but like any dish with holes in the bottom you will want a towel handy when taking it out the dishwasher.

I usually do not like bottoms with holes because water tends to stay in the cavity no matter what, but since I was aware of this before ordering, Im not taking a star off for that reason. I was also aware that the height of this bowl was rather low for adult cats, and the bottom did not have the anti-slippery seal. But thats exactly what I needed it to be for my very special newly adopted furry son, who is extremely skittish and very unique. The bowl size is great for him. I give my furry kids wet food mixed with water to make it soupy. This bowl holds the soupy food nicely. I also appreciate that this is safe for my precious kids, no lead or cadmium. The baby blue color and shape look exactly like the one on the product page. Im posting a photo with a soda can so you can have an idea on its height. Every cat and its needs are different. If you have a regular adult cat, Id suggest you get a raised bowl that has a bit more height. I also prefer the bowl with an open base/bottom for ease of grabbing, especially when Im washing it. But this bowl gets 5 stars from me because it is exactly what it advertised.

This ceramic cat bowl is elevated by about 2" and is tilted at 15 (the vet-approved angle). This configuration provides a more natural posture when eating. The slanted design helps prevent food from being thrown from the bowl when the cat is eating (mine makes a real mess with wet food when she eats from her old bowl). In addition to spending food everywhere, my cat wouldn't finish the food at the bottom of the bowl. After some research, it looks like her wiskers are the culprit. Cutting her wiskers was not an option, so a new bowl was in order. This bowl appears to be very well made. It is large enough so her wiskers don't confict with the bowl when getting at those last tasty morsels. One thing I would change (and probably will) is adding rubber (or silicone) feet to the bottom. The ceramic is smooth and might not stay put on tile. I detected no visual or operational defects in manufacturing.

I have two eleven year old rescue kitties. They are indoor cats and are not overweight but are very large, weighing in at 14 lbs. Because of their size they also have long whiskers. Just like the product description says, the raised height and tilted bowl seem to take pressure off their necks and shoulders. Theyre at the age where arthritis can start to set in so I want to try anything I can to slow it down. The beautiful blue color of the ceramic makes me smile and the bowl is heavier than a metal bowl and seems to be well cast. However, this Kopmath Elevated Bowl is a little smaller than other raised bowls I have and doesnt allow enough room for my larger cats whiskers. I think it might be better suited for smaller/younger cats.
