Great pencils, come with a lot of lead. Great for hole transfer markings. Don't drop on concrete floor, lead breaks sometimes. The cap of the pencil comes off [pull straight up] and has a small hole in the top. This is the sharpener, it works well. Don't forget to empty the ground lead out of the hole or you will make a real mess of your shirt or your work piece.

The built in lead sharpeners are poorly designed. They fit unobtrusively, but are difficult to use as they're so small, and they do not clear out sharpened lead easily, which limits their ability to actually put a point on the leads.

Excellent product, good value. These will come in handy and last a long time.

The additional support that the long nib gives to the lead is great. Not only are these pencils ideal for marking inside holes and other tight spaces, they're perfect for holding brittle leads that are especially prone to snapping when extended (e.g. 8B graphite). This makes the pencil uniquely well-suited for artists that want that 'long point' style of lead exposure while drawing with soft leads. I knocked a star off because of the grip. The 'knurling' is useless and counterproductive. It feels like chrome-plated plastic, even though I'm pretty sure there's metal underneath. It actually makes the pencil slipperier in my opinion. It's nothing a foam grip from the dollar store won't fix, though. Or you could use the rubber grip off a spent ball point pen. Pro-tip: use compressed air to help slide such sleeves on if they're a tight fit. While these pencils look almost identical to many cheap 2mm mech pencils coming out of China, they're actually slightly better built than the examples I own (see photo). The clutch mechanism is made entirely of brass, whereas the similar-looking regular version has a mostly plastic clutch. So that's a pleasant surprise. The clutch mechanism works well. The lead doesn't spin or collapse into the body. Note: The pencil in my photo has a scratched-up tip. It didn't come like this. I buffed it with sand paper to dull the mirror shine it originally had.
