We tried using these utensils, but every single one of them would break when we tried to use it. Especially the forks were just not work the hassle.

Got these for an HOA event we were hosting and they were great. held up well and people complimented the quality disposable utensils and some even took them to wash and reuse.

EQUO Sugarcane Disposable Utensil Set is a better alternative than plasticware. The utensils are free of any taste, but as noted by others, any pressure, particulaarly on the knives when cutting tougher food products, tend to crack or break. They are much more expensive than plastic, but sometimes a higher price is necessay to combat landfill waste. I can't comment on reuse, but they seem to tolerate light washing well. I have mounted some on a board and exposed them to south Florida weather to determine how readily they degrade. A revised review will summarize. REVISION: After using these utensils for several weeks, I must my amend my review to comment on their sturdiness, sadly lacking. The forks broke easily when serving pies and the knives were equally fragile when curing a pie crust. Using a spoon to dole out ice cream was a complete failure. I suspect their fragility is due to their composition (sugar cane) and I still support their use, as long as the user is aware that requiring a more sturdy serving utensil might consider a different option.

I didn't bother to test this EQUO Sugarcane Disposable Utensil Set in hot meals given that I was able to snap the middle two prong of the fork with minor pressure, I chipped a piece out of the spoon with slight pressure in my mouth and, snapped the handles on all three with ease. Since it was so easy break these, I assume the teeth of the knives will likely break off as well. I don't feel like wasting food testing that out. These are only suitable for adults who are eating... oatmeal maybe? These are simply too brittle for any actual use in my opinion and, I would consider them hazardous, especially with children.

I am older and cook most of my own meals. I also am my own dishwasher so I prefer to use disposable paper plates, cups and utensils. Doesn't mean I want to clog up landfills with plastic, though. I saw these and thought I would try them to see if they work as well as the other degradable utensils that I use most often. Never hurts to try a new type, but this is not the one to turn to, sadly. These do not have the strength to stay in one piece even for a meal! I wish they were sturdy like the other disposable utensils I use, but they really are just too delicate. Not sure if they need to be thicker, need more fiber in the mix or something else, but the people who manufacture these need to go back to the drawing board and try again. Do some in-house research and testing before bringing out the next iteration of these...
