Solid, sharp, weighty scissors, the kind of product that was "made like a tank" as they used to say about items made in the 1940s that were intended to last more than one generation. I folded a wad of 8 layers of poly/cotton sheeting (85% poly 15% cotton) and they cut cleanly with relative ease. I probably wouldn't use it regularly with more than 6 layers but clearly it can handle multiple layers. I didn't try them with leather because I have a special pair of leather sheers but they can probably handle vinyl, leather, and suede as well. Comes with a plastic cap for the sharp tip (keep these away from children, store them in a locked drawer or somewhere high) and with a plastic sleeve to protect from moisture. Definitely more than enough for seamstress/tailor hobby sheers and probably also suitable for professional work. If the blades and screw-joint hold up over time they can probably be passed down to children and maybe grandchildren.

I was suspicious about the quality of scissors at this price. I was taken aback by the materials, their weight, and how well they cut fabric. I quickly cut through the waistband of a pair of jeans, leaving a clean cut. The denim was heavy, but the real test was cutting the seams of the waistband that had layers of denim. I am thrilled with these and pleased.
