So my baby sister gave these brushes a new name as you can see in the title but I love these ever since I got them months ago. Theyre the only brushes I use for oil painting bc after this I put all my other ones in storage. In the months Ive had them, only a single hair has fallen out of one brush (given I use them roughly at times especially when I wipe them on my rag. These brushes are a perfect dupe for an almost same looking version I found on another website. Im not paying $100 for those so I hopped my tail right on ZeeBooth and found the perfect version of what I wanted. I JUST ordered the third set of these BEAUTIFUL brushes last night. Theres no other brush prettier than these. Period.

I intended to use these for face painting, but they arrived just a bit too late for me to use them at the event where I was doing face painting. I paint mostly with oil and cold wax, where you use primarily scrapers, rollers, and squeegees rather than brushes, but I really wanted to give these a good workout, so I used them first on a straight oil painting on canvas that I'm working on and then with several oil and cold wax paintings on boards. My experience with inexpensive brushes is that they tend to fall apart--start to shed bristles and lose their shape. Even with the heavy oil and cold wax mixture, the brushes stayed together and held their shape. They are nylon--which tends to be soft and pleasant to the touch, but often too soft for me to paint with them effectively. These held up just fine--not as stiff as some of the natural bristle brushes, but plenty strong enough to hold a good load of paint and distribute it effectively. I'm surprised at how good these are.

I'm painting with water color and acrylics with these brushes. They are all pretty darn good considering their value pricing. I am a budget craft and artist type, and I love turning flat canvas and paint into something really beautiful and fun to look at. These brushes make it easier to get the results I want and know how hard it is to paint with low quality brushes. The brush you use does matter, and these are impressive when compared to some name brand single brushes I've bought over the years. They were not the cheapest either. Each of these brushes are strong, wash up well and feel comfortable and balanced in the hand. I've experienced zero shedding or usage failure in the last two weeks. Each brush is cut well and there are no stray fibers to mess up your strokes. I did not have to trim or correct a single brush, and that rarely happens. This set has a very useful assortment of sizes. I love the filbert brush shape and it really is my all time favorite brush to paint with. It gives me the ease of control in tight places. The fibers are long enough to hold plenty of paint for longer curved strokes. They can also produce really long and messy brushing or even certain styles of lettering. The set includes 9 brushes from size 0, for tiny details, and 16 for larger work or blocking in. I'm not sure of the size labeling accuracy when judged by industry standards, or if the numbers reflect the standards you are accustomed to. The selection offers several in my most purchased sizes, and I now have a couple more favorites. The brushes are great for water color, acrylic and most likely would work well for oils as well. The brushes wash up well with cool water and soap. They rinse well and cleanly in plain water while working. The brush fibers are tinted slightly green, this has no effect on the performance of the brushes. The nylon synthetic hair/fur are soft and flexible. They bounce and flex like many higher priced natural brushes. These synthetic fibers act like natural hair, but I like these better. They hold up very well. I think with the better quality nylon brushes, they'll be favored over natural. I'm happy with these brushes. The case is nice for storage, or for some other use. These brushes would make a great gift for a loved one who is budding artist or art student or for yourself. 5 stars
