These are nice sturdy puzzle pieces. I like how it comes with a variety of puzzle pieces to choose from some animals are in 4 pieces some 2 some 3. When we first got the set I would only get out the animals that went together with two pieces once my son figured those ones out I added in the three piece ones and will eventually be able to add in the four piece ones. It is nice to be able to split them up or only put out one or two at the start then add complexity as time and his experience progresses.

Seems like it would be a great gift for my 3 yr old granddsughter.

My 1.5 yr old and my 3 yr old both love this set of puzzles. My younger one loves to look at the animal photos on the puzzle, and can put together the 2 piece ones with minimal assistance. My 3 yr old can put together all the puzzle sets, but does need help to figure out which pieces are for which animals. I can see my kids playing with this for a while since there are so many different ways you can set up these puzzles for play.
