I used a similar attachment for warming up my truck in the winter time. I have a 99 blazer with the fob that is separate of a key which is not a chipped key. I is great to be able to separate your ignition key from the fob and lock the car while it is running. It is also great if the wife forgets something in the house and you can give her the main fob and keep the car running. The collar is not dissimilar to an air chuck with a ball bearing slip collar. It is very sturdy and I'm sure it will last a long time. It isn't hard to use, but takes dedicated manipulation to separate the key sets. In oother words, you won't accidentally lose half your keys.

When traveling my trusty little pocket knife has to come off the keychain before hitting the airport, so this does the trick nicely ensuring I just take the house and car keys and leave the rest behind.... My apartment complex added new gated access and everyone needs a key fob to get in. The problem is you have to reach out your car window and wave the fob about an inch away from the machine, And you need the same fob to get into your individual apartment. So the best way to Cary it is on your key ring. But to wave the fob I would need to take my car keys out of the ignition or Cary two separate sets of keys.
