Hey, are you looking for a high-tech solution for storing pens and pencils? Well, this isn't exactly high tech. But it will, in fact, store your pens and pencils, and sometime the tried and true method is the best method. This is nice in that it fits cleanly into a 3-ring binder. So, your Lisa Frank trapper keeper will accomodate this, no problem, and you can fill it with sparkly gel pens to your hearts content.

Boy have we come a long way with pencil pouches since my vinyl Raggedy Ann pencil pouch from the 1970's. Now they can stand up on their own! And they have interior zippers for air pods (I imagine my 6 year old self saying "Air pods? Will they make me fly?") PLUS, you can even see into this one so you know what's inside. And what's this newfangled, high-tech fabric all about? I really like the versatility of this pouch. You can either put into into a 3 ring binder using the sturdy loops attached, or you can throw it in the front pocket of a backpack. It stands up on its own so you can put it on your desk and sort through it. You can organize littler things like a small pencil sharpener, erasers, or air pods with the interior zipper pocket. The zippers work great and are nice and smooth to operate. Plus, the fabric seems very breathable just in case your pet frog gets stuck inside, or something. Overall, a great pencil pouch. This review is for the Five Star brand Pencil Pouch (Color - Black/Grey). I received a free taxable sample of this pencil pouch to review in my search for a pouch to use for school supplies. The pencil pouch weighs 34 grams and has a 3 x 2 raised rectangular base and a max height of 8. There are two elastic loops securely stitched into the pouch that are spaced to loop onto three-ring binders and through which you can also snap a carabiner through for easy attachment to a backpack or to make the pouch easier to carry by hand. The top part of the pouch is sealed with what feels like a metal zipper to which is attached a branded zipper pull with graphics of five stars on each side. The zipper runs on reasonably sturdy small plastic teeth and runs down about 3 on each side of the pouch to create flaps. What I especially like is the clever design which allows the flaps to be folded down to transform the pencil pouch into a fairly stable free-standing pouch. Other thoughtful design touches include the see-through mesh portion on the bottom and the bi-directional 3 x 2 pocket on the inside of the branded front flap. The inner pocket is sealed at each end with strips of hooks and loops and features little nylon pull tabs that make it easier to pull open. The overall durability of the pouch is good, and the cushioned flaps feels like they are made out of a reasonably durable nylon fabric. The fabric for the rectangular base feels even more durable and similar to what youd find on a rugged nylon backpack. I like that the seam tape uses a similar fabric as the base and that the seams are reinforced around the rectangular base, along the two mesh seams, and around the rim of the fold-down pencil pouch where the flaps meet the mesh portion. The workmanship is okay with decent stitching albeit with a few loose threads and I like that there is a one-year guarantee from the manufacturer. In terms of use, weve been using this pencil pouch mainly for basic school supplies and tucking it away in our backpack for transport. We havent gotten much use out of the inner pocket, although we will most likely get an additional one of these pencil pouches to use to hold some makeup items as part of a larger travel bag. All in all, this is a cleverly designed and nicely functional and durable pencil pouch. I recommend this as a great option for storing basic school supplies and other small items.

This pencil pouch is cleverly designed to work stand-alone as well as in a 3-ring binder. It isn't large, but it fits a ton of supplies. With the top folded out, it can stand conveniently on a flat surface. Very durable, no noticeable wear over a couple of months of continuous use (and my kid is usually terrible with his school gear). Definitely recommend!
