I did not know there were such things as this FOMIYES Silicone Suction Cup Pen/Pencil/Scissor/Brush/??? Holder. I originally thought I would use it as a toothbrush holder, but moisture is going to accumulate in the bottom - there are no drain holes - and probably get a little unpleasant. I guess the upside is that it can be run through the dishwasher I assume since it's silicone. While I think the holder is pretty cool, I'm not sure where I'm going to use it. Probably as a stocking stuffer. Like most silicone suction things, it sucks well to a smooth surface. Not so well to any surface with surface irregularities (like wood grain). That being said it does not remain 'sucked in place' on my smooth, sealed marble vanity countertop overnight, but the base is large & sturdy enough to prevent it from tipping unless you really overload it. Speaking of suction, there is no 'tab' to grab to help release it - you have to work a fingernail under the lip to break the seal. Actual depth of the cup/holder part is 3" and the inner diameter is 2".

Let's start with the positives: This is made of relatively thick and firm silicone. It's flexible, the base has good suction, and it holds a fair amount. The only negative is more of a "me problem," so I'm not deducting points for it: it's not as wide or deep as I'd like. This works fine for pencils, makeup brushes, and paint brushes. However, the main reason I bought it was for the kitchen. My counter is my main prep space, and I thought this would be good as a place to stick random utensils so they wouldn't have to go on the countertop. It works for smaller stuff (cutlery-sized) but isn't quite deep enough for larger items like stirring spoons and spatulas. That said, it's designed well enough that I'm sure it'll find use somewhere in my house, whether it's my desk, my kitchen, or my art space.
