These are much bigger than the little CGM device, evidently to keep the water out, and they definitely keep the water out. The problem is that even after two weeks I could hardly get it off, and it hurt to do it. It wanted to take the skin with it. These are good for if you are going into the water, but not for daily use to disguise your CGM.

I was and still kind of am skeptical of these diabetic patches because they don't claim to be hypoallergenic and as someone with extremely sensitive skin, I normally can't have anything that isn't hypoallergenic. However, I've used these patches for a few months now and as of right now, knock on wood, these haven't given me a rash. One thing I don't really appreciate about this is that the color I have is called "skin" and although it works well with my specific skin tone, if you have a darker skin tone this certainly won't match. I wish they would just call it tan. The adhesion on these patches is extremely good. It has pretty consistently lasted 14 days on me no problem. It isn't the worst to take off either which is nice. I like that the sticker parts on the back of it aren't over complicated and are simply four equally sized pieces if that makes sense. The middle part which touches the sensor doesn't have any adhesion which in my opinion is neither good nor bad. Just something to note. Overall, as long as my skin continues to not have any issues with these patches, I might have to say that they are my favorite as of right now.

It seems like a simple thing, but having some sort of cover sticking to your skin for 14 days can cause irritation if the fabric and glue aren't just right. Happy to report this is staying in place and quite comfortable. It's breathable which is good for your skin as well as the CGM. By the end of the 14 day life of the sensor, the fabric was beginning to show fraying but still held up pretty well. One thing to consider is that the patches are quite big, more than you'd need it to be, but you can cut it smaller if you like. The large size makes it a bit tricky to put on without having the fabric collapse on itself and stick, but with practice I expect to get better at avoiding that.

These patches also work with Dexcom G7 Sensors, but since my Dexcom G7 Sensors come with a sufficient adhesive patch, I ordered these to cover my infusion sets. I use the metal needle type of infusion sets and, sometimes if my insulin pump falls out of my pocket, it will pull the entire infusion set out of my body, making it useless. So, these adhesive patches really do the trick preventing incidents like this. I ordered these in the color PINK. You will receive 30 pink patches which come inside a Ziplock-style sealed bag. I use these approximately every three days when I change out my infusion set, so these last approximately 90 days (or about 3 months). At roughly 43 per patch, this is a pretty good value. TIP: If using these for securing infusion sets/tubing, try cutting them in half for twice the value! These CGM patches definitely held firmly for 3 days, but I also used one on top of my Dexcom G7 sensor for 10 days and it stood the test of time with just normal daily activities. I did not use any suntan or body lotion or oils near the patch and did not do any swimming during this time frame. I have noticed that with other patches I have tried, applying lotions or creams anywhere near the patch will weaken it and may cause it to fall off prematurely, so be sure to be mindful of that, regardless of which patch you choose to wear. NOTE: A lot of CGM patches have a hole cut out in the middle. These do not. The CENTER portion of these patches are made with a non-sticky, non-woven fabric. So, if you carefully position these over your sensor, you should be able to carefully remove the patch without ripping out your sensor. Since the sensor would be covered with this fabric (no hole), this may slightly interfere with connectivity to your pump. I cannot attest to any sensors other than the Dexcom G7 sensor. One drawback to these patches is that there are FOUR adhesive sections you must remove to apply these instead of TWO like most other brands. Thats not that big of a deal, but Diabetes is hard, and I look for ways to simplify my life. While these adhesive patches WILL work with Dexcom G7 sensors, overall, I think these are a bit big, to be honest. Also, Dexcom G7 sensors already come with one adhesive patch to hold it in place. But it is always a good idea to have a backup plan, so you may want to consider adding these to your shopping cart in case you need a backup plan.
